Nova England v Lucerne (11/07)
The Mercury FA has announced a friendly match between Nova England and Lucerne will be played on Wednesday. Nova England failed to qualify for this year's World Cup, finishing second behind Ocia. Lucerne, who only has a population of 20,000, have no previous experience of international football, so it will be interesting to see what prospects they may have in the future. Most Lucian players only have social gatherings, so most people are predicting a heavy win in favour of the Nova English, although with Incontinentia's recent 3-2 win over Hamland, many are wary of what surprises may be in store.
The announcement was coupled with one creating a Mercury State of Origin Championships, a multi-sport event. Championship points will be awarded based on medals won. Regional qualifying events will take place to select the squad for each state. The events to be contested are:
Football
Women's Football
Futsal
Rugby league
Ultimate
Footby
Olbescbol
Athletics

Ka'an Peterson scored 5 goals as Nova England trounced FMF newcomers Lucerne. Lucian spirits were high going into the game, although they were soon dampened as two minutes in, Peterson gave Nova England the lead. Six minutes later, the hosts were 2-0 in front, Jack Jones firing in a blistering shot from 20 yards. A Nova England corner reached Peterson unmarked, slotting the ball away easily to make it 3-0 inside the first 15 minutes. Eight minutes from the break, Vincent Weber added his name to the scoresheet, a fine volley from the free kick defeating Mark Barnard. Peterson made it 5-0 just before half time, going one on one with Barnard and easily finding the net.
In the second half, Nova England started more slowly, only further increasing their lead just shy of the hour mark, Theo Sinclair making a brilliant run from the midfield, before finishing it off himself. It was 7-0 not long after, with Andrew Lee getting his first of the game, beating three defenders in the process. Seven minutes later it was 8-0, Peterson getting a fourth. By this point, Craitland's record score of 11-0 was looking under threat, and when Peterson's fifth made it 9-0, this was even more the case. Lee would have made it 10-0 were it not for a close offside call on 85 minutes. Johnson tried his luck from range, but the shot thundered over the bar. Nova England sealed their record win, and Lucerne suffer a cruel induction to the FMF international stage.

Re: Nova England v Lucerne (11/07)
Yeah, second on Micrasjoefoxon wrote:But only the FMF ones count really so it's second place
Still lacking behind these scores:
Senya 0 Ultamiya 10 - Friendly, Feb 2012 [Broadcasted - Search for it on YouTube]
NAPI 11 Sandus 0 - MW Cup Qualifier, Apr 2012
Craitland 11 Incontinentia 0 - Friendly, 2010 sometime
Thus, fourth largest.

MicroWiki doesn't have neutral simulation though, Micras does.
Re: Nova England v Lucerne (11/07)
Have you seen what me and Martin have been doing over there lately? I mean, the whole MW Cup thing was a giant success (because Senya won it )joefoxon wrote:MicroWiki doesn't have neutral simulation though, Micras does.

What a surprise MicroWiki football scores are just ridiculous though.Senya wrote:(because Senya won it )
Re: Nova England v Lucerne (11/07)
but mind you, how many of those actively arrange friendlies? There is no doubt that MicroWiki has a lot of catching up to do with Micras in terms of virtual football, and I'd say were a good 3 or 4 years away from what you're doing now at the FMF.vmsb123 wrote:That and the VMSB! 72 members!
