2013 Telcom Serie A di Tellia
2013 Telcom Serie A di Tellia
The FGGC have released the fixture dates for the 2013 Telcom Tellian Serie A season. The Serie A, which has a tentative start date of January 26 will look to be the earliest start to the Tellian league campaign in three years, with it also being the first time that the January transfer window will overlap into the curtain raiser (previously, all transfer activity had to happen before the start of the season). This year will see teams have 1 week after their first game to wrap up their transfer deals, and whilst the opening date has been confirmed, the FGGC are working closely with WMFA to avoid any clashes with matches on the intermicronational stage.
New boys Ocula will be welcomed with a home start against Romero, a side who will be looking to sort out their managerial and ownership woes as the transfer window edges closer and closer. Romero will be looking to improve on their 3rd place finish last season and challenge for the title, with the expected two front-runners also heavily strengthening their squad.
Champions FC Fiorecittà, who have been the least active of last year's top three will have no time to settle at all. With the return of AC Fiorecittà in the Serie A, we are set up for the derby match as the two Aspica based teams clash in their opening match to give us a Fiorecittan derby.
And meanwhile both Fiorecittà sides clash, big spending Vecchiacittà Calcio will travel across Ashkenatza to face Maccabiah Klymenburg as they look to claim their title after a successive 2nd place finish. The Martyrs will then host Romero in what looks set to be an important game, as they aim to build a nice tally of points straight from week one.
The match to watch though will come in week 5 where both of the giants clash, with Vecchiacittà hosting FC Fiorecittà at the DaeZoom ArenA. However there is plenty of football to play beforehand and whilst it could be a potential championship-breaking, there could be other teams that might have a say in the title race. Romero could play a part, although the emerging Les Verts Gaianiano may also have a say with Paolo Ste Laurent returning to club management. Whatever happens, we're in for a good season.

Re: 2013 Telcom Serie A di Tellia
WEEK 1 FEATURED GAME - FC FIORECITTA v AC FIORECITTA
26/01 - Stadio San Felice
Preview:
It has been 3 years since these two sides have clashed. In Aspica, there's no such thing as noisy neighbours. The reality is that, both teams play at the same stadium, both teams have history as being the founding clubs of the FGGC. There is no love lost between the inter-city rivalry of ACF and FCF, where only the change of a letter could relate to the other team.
The history of both sides have contrasted. Whilst FC Fiorecittà have dominated Tellian football, becoming the most successful club in the league, their rivals in red and blue have faltered and have fallen out of Serie A - that was until now. AC Fiorecittà, who have finished 3rd before are now under the hands of Cristiano Ascari, a former ACF player himself. With the 3-3-1-3 attacking style of play imposed by Ascari, the lesser known club have fought their way back up to the top flight after several years of struggle.
One thing that may be even more interesting - following AC Fiorecittà's relegation in 2010, the side have adopted a cava policy - only accepting players of Fiorecittan and Tellian heritage. With the exception of Olafur Inserni (who is half-Tellian himself), every player in the ACF system are Tellian, the only club in Tellia with such a policy.
Tonight's clash at the San Felice also sees the first time that two Denoix-Moreau brothers face each other. Anthony Denoix-Moreau was previously rejected by AC Fiorecittà as a youngster, instead trying out for FC Fiorecittà. In the process, the Tellian international has won the league on several occasions, and added a World Cup and Benacia Cup to his name last summer. In contrast, Hervé Denoix-Moreau, one year senior to Anthony has only just made an impact at Rossoblu, breaking into the squad last year. Despite being accepted as an ACF player all those years back, it just shows the contrast in how two players careers can change over time in a matter of years.
In terms of the match tonight, it will be a tough test for AC Fiorecittà, although manager Ascari expects his side to rise to the Serie A challenge and put up a fight against their once bitter rivals. There is no evidence of any change of tactic as he sticks to what worked before, adapting the 3-3-1-3 system as played last season in the Serie B. Daniele Cosentino is expected to lead the side out, whilst Vittore Donato and Pasquale Abdon are expected to be making their debuts.
Meanwhile, FC Fiorecittà also seem no change in formation, however there will be several changes to the line up following their WMFA Champions League defeat to Vecchiacittà. Lee Nam-Hwan drops to the bench, whilst Luis Escudero switches from left wing to the right hand side. Goran Vrhunc is expected to play on the left, as Zyx Dermana looks set to hand a debut to 19 year old Luigi Donatello. New Luandan born Donatello, who was adopted at an early age by a Tellian family, was recruited into the FiorAcademica system last year; however his progress has accelerated and the manager has seemed to have rewarded with a start in the first match of the season.
The match will also see Tamer Modrem lead the side out in the Serie A for the first time since the retirement of former skipper Vincenzo Motta. Whilst the FCF fans expect their sides to see this game off with ease, the other half of the San Felice will undoubtedly want to make sure they provide a good contest, push their rivals to the limit and hopefully snatch something from the game.
Predicted Line-ups:
FC Fiorecittà (3-5-2): 12 S Di Maggio (GK); 2 M Guerrero, 4 R Bonati, 42 A De Laurentiis; 11 L Escudero, 21 R Ganau, 10 T Modrem (capt), 5 L Bortolotti, 7 G Vrhunc; 9 A Denoix-Moreau, 45 L Donatello.
Subs: 1 M Storace (GK), 3 N H Lee, 6 R Lavichelli, 8 K N'Kosi, 13 M Di Tommaso, 22 Y W Kim, 24 E Jowasaki

DONATELLO SENT HOME FROM TRAINING
Following a heroic debut with a man of the match performance, Luigi Donatello was sent home from training yesterday after tabloids reported about his celebratory antics following their 6-0 drubbing of rivals AC Fiorecittà.
The 19 year old striker, who netted 2 goals and provided 3 further assists in Saturday's match believed to have traveled to Romero, with media reporting that the player spent approximately Cr 15000 on alcohol in a club.
Turning up two hours late to training on Monday, Zyx Dermäna was hideously unimpressed, resorting to sending the player away from the training ground after reportedly being furious with the behaviour of the 19 year old. The FCF manager refused to comment on the situation and the player's actions, but what looks to be true is that Donatello will spend the rest of the week training with the youth team, having only been promoted to the first team a few weeks earlier.
When ushered away from the training ground by one of the team's coaches, a reporter approached the youngster, asking him whether he regrets his actions following his disciplinary action. The player replied, "I have no problem, I had a good match and I can party because I can."
It is unknown whether Dermäna will look to fine Donatello considering that it appears to be the player's first offence. It is also not known whether the manager will place Donatello in contention for this weekend's match away at Scoglitto.

Vecchiacittà v Romero Sport
Preview:
For this week's featured match, we see two teams who have started off the season brightly with wins to their names. Both teams have spent a substantial amount of money over the transfer windows, and while Vecchiacittà try and push for the league title, Romero are also looking to enter the title race as they look to close the gap on their opponents and FC Fiorecittà.
As seen against Klymenburg, Vecchiacittà will look to play a 4-2-3-1 formation as manager Luigi Matri tries to impose his influence on the team. Kristian Jentzsch will be handed his first league start following his début as a substitute last week (also scoring a late goal) as Khalid Mohamed is dropped to the bench. Elsewhere, Phillip Sherman has moved to the right flank to accommodate Jentzsch whilst the rest of the side looks identical to the one that faced K-Burg last week.
Romero on the other hand remain unchanged. Likewise with Vecchiacittà, the visitors has also seen a change in managers, with Enzo Pellegrino stepping up from the assistant managing role to take the top spot of his side. Continuing on from Tereminus's work, the Craitish manager will look to use Petro Gjanocca and Marko Zajc on the wings, whilst youngster Gavrel Levandovskiy is once again depended on up front ahead of the experienced Maximiliano Evangelisti and Curtis O'Toole. Wantaway defender Schiavvi once again captains the side.
Predicted Lineups:
Vecchiacittà (4-2-3-1): 1 Ula (GK); 2 F Stefánsson, 5 C Kopaczewski, 4 J O'Hara, 3 E Didinho; 8 E J Motley, 7 K Mustafa; 9 P Sherman, 12 I Mahler (capt), 10 T Llwrran; 11 K Jentzsch.
Romero (4-3-3): 1 A du Nigrad (GK); 2 H Bernstein, 4 A von Schlidt, 5 M Schiavvi (capt), 14 K Harmett; 24 M Santoni, 10 T. L. Ahn, 8 Y Giton; 7 M Zajc, 9 G Levandovskiy, 17 P Gjanocca.

WEEK 3 FEATURED MATCH - AC Fiorecittà v AC Scoglitto
Preview:
This week's featured game sees new boys AC Fiorecittà host AC Scoglitto at the San Felice. Groundskeepers have been tested to their limit as they attempted to keep the pitch in a reasonable state with two games played back-to-back, following yesterday's match between FC Fiorecittà (who share the San Felice with their cross-city rivals) and Maccabiah Klymenburg. Both sides have struggled to kick start their campaigns as both ACF and Scoglitto currently sit at the bottom of the table, and both sides will be desperate to get 3 points from today's game to get their season under way.
AC Fiorecittà make a few changes in the midfield, with Pasquale Abdon moving to centre, while Georges Bazinet is called into the squad. Despite failing to score an entire goal since their promotion to the Serie A, manager Cristiano Ascari has decided to keep the strike force of Olafur Inserni, Saverio Cachani and Hervé Denoix-Moreau as he keeps faith in his attacking 3-3-1-3 formation.
Meanwhile, AC Scoglitto have made a few changes. Like the home side, the opponents have failed to open their goalscoring account this season, and Fabio Castello has called for 4 changes from the previous defeat against FC Fiorecittà last week. Gregorios Sinyakos moves out to left back as Ocian Andrija Elsner comes into defence as Carlo Tedesco is dropped to the bench. Luca Riviera regains his spot at right midfield, whilst Anton Maria Balducci is deemed fit to start for his début having been ruled out of the start of the season due to injury. Valérien Masi has failed to make an impact in the first two games, so Mailong striker Veasna Nimol will get his first start of the season.
Considering the position of both sides, either side will need the win. However, despite their intentions of going for victory, both sides will also take a cautious approach, knowing that any slip ups and failure to win could put them in a precarious position early on in the season.
Predicted Lineups:
AC Fiorecittà (3-3-1-3): 1 T Guillermety (GK); 84 D Cosentino (capt), 23 Y Silvestrini, 4 P Cavalli; 7 G Bazinet, 14 P Abdon, 10 V Donato; 6 M Saba; 16 Ó Inserni, 9 S Cachani, 91 H Denoix-Moreau.
AC Scoglitto (4-2-3-1): 1 A Terzic (GK); 2 M Große, 23 A Elsner, 5 G Tuono, 18 G Sinyakos; 4 M Wojchiechowski (capt), 6 K Jóhansson; 7 L Riviera, 10 A M Balducci, 11 L Vracko; 9 V Nimol.

WEEK 5 FEATURED MATCH - Vecchiacittà Calcio v FC Fiorecittà
Preview:
This week clash sees one of the most anticipated fixtures of the season. Whilst one team has been dominating the scenes of Tellian football over the last few years, there is one side who have been trying to bolster and build a squad that is capable of matching the most successful side in Tellian side in history. While the classic derby includes another side, Vecchiacittà and FC Fiorecittà's derby has intensified over recent years. FCF have been seen as the dominant side of Tellia, on the other hand Vecchiacittà are viewed as the heavy spending risk taking side who are desparate for another league title. With Luigi Matri now taking over the reigns, the attention turns to Rozenhafn as the current champions visit their closest challengers with both sides in familiar positions as of recent times - 1st and 2nd.
Home team Vecchiacittà will be wanting to assert their claim as title contenders. Having spent almost Cr200M over two seasons, they are desperately needing a league title to match their investment, and having seen the league financial fair play fixed future seasons, this may possibly be their only chance of having any advantage over their opponents. And with his large squad, Luigi Matri has opted for a very attacking minded side. Isaac Mahler moves to the right flank as Phillip Sherman is deployed as a second striker behind Kristian Jentzsch. René Sgarbini returns to the squad at centre-back, meaning Jonathan O'Hara is pushed up to the unfamiliar holding midfield role once again.
FC Fiorecittà on the other hand recall Luigi Donatello to the bench. The youngster who was disciplined after a mischievous night out following his spectacular début against AC Fiorecittà was dropped for the last few matches, as Zyx Dermana opts to take a more defensive nature from his usual 3-5-2, reflecting on the strength of the opposition.
Only one point currently separates the two sides, and this match may be seen as one of the key matches to decide the title. The return leg will also be eagerly anticipated. Vecchiacittà have already suffered a shock defeat to Les Verts Gaianiano, and they will want to make amends today.
Predicted Lineups:
Vecchiacittà (4-2-3-1): 1 T Ula (GK); 2 F Stefánsson, 5 C Kopaczewski, 6 R Sgarbini, 3 E Didinho; 4 J O'Hara, 7 K Mustafa; 12 I Mahler (capt), 9 P Sherman, 10 T Llwrran; 11 K Jentzsch.
FC Fiorecittà (4-4-2): 12 S Di Maggio (GK); 3 N H Lee, 4 R Bonati, 6 R Lavichelli, 42 A De Laurentiis; 10 T Modrem (capt), 8 K N'Kosi, 21 R Ganau, 11 L Escudero; 7 G Vrhunc, 9 A Denoix-Moreau.

WEEK 6 FEATURED MATCH - Romero Sport v AC Scoglitto
Preview:
We return to the historic Tellian capital of Romero, and the atmosphere is very tense. The Pizatti family have not lived up to expectation to fans and having seen a lot of changes to the squad, manager Enzo Pellegrino is struggling to form a consistent squad that can perform together on a weekly basis. The Craitish manager will have been encouraged by the 5-0 win over AC Fiorecittà, although injury to youngster Mirko Giordano is probably not the news he would have wanted, who will now be out for 2 weeks.
Scoglitto on the other hand have recovered from a shaky start, having won 3 out of the last 3 games and confidence will be running high. Although the wins have been narrow, manager Fabio Castello can be content with his teams performance, especially considering that they were expected to be ones to face a battle to avoid the drop from the Serie A earlier on in pre-season.
Romero will be looking to make a few changes. Following Giordano's injury, Yoann Giton has returned to the starting lineup alongside Massimo Santoni, while Maximiliano Evangelisti is surprisingly dropped in favour of Cr13M signing Curtis O'Toole, despite impressing in the 5-0 defeat of AC Fiorecittà.
Despite the lack of resources and the small sized squad, Scoglitto will look to play their new faces of Leon Vracko, Anton Maria Balducci and Veasna Nimol, who all signed for a combined fee that was less than O'Toole. All three have seemed to made an impact and settled in quickly with the rest of the squad, in what looks to be inspired signings by the Scoglittan boss.
The home side will be feeling the pressure to perform in contrast to the visitor fans, who are buzzing as they look to push Les Verts Gaianiano for third spot in the league. The question for the away side though is fatigue, and how long can this side go unchanged without tiring or burning out.
Predicted Lineups:
Romero Sport (4-3-3): 1 A du Nigrad (GK); 2 H Bernstein, 4 A von Schlidt, 5 M Schiavvi (capt), 14 K Harmett; 24 M Santoni, 10 T L Ahn, 8 Y Giton; 7 M Zajc, 11 C O'Toole, 17 P Gjanocca.
AC Scoglitto (4-2-3-1): 1 A Terzic (GK); 2 M Große, 23 A Elsner, 5 G Tuono, 18 G Sinyakos; 4 M Wojchiechowski (capt), 6 K Jóhansson; 7 L Riviera, 10 A M Balducci, 11 L Vracko; 9 V Nimol.
