ASA freezes all Alexandrian transfers
The Alexandrian Sports Association has frozen all transfer activity in all clubs in the Empire, following plans to restructure the league.
With Xabier Guerre now taking presidency of the footballing body of Alexandria, the new president has already made it clear that his attentions are to re-establish the ASA Super 8, albeit with stricter, more pro-Alexandrian rules.
Guerre, also known for being the founder of Alexandrian motor company XaGuerre, took up his post earlier this month and has made it publicly clear that his intention is to bring back the World Cup to Alexandria.
The frozen transfer activity is believed to allow Alexandrian clubs time to adapt to the new changes. One of the key changes is clubs can only register a squad of 25 (numbers 1-25) players, with only 5 players only being allowed to be registered from outside the Cibotap region (with the exception of other Alexandrian territories such as Valencia). Under 21 Alexandrian players are exempt from the squad registration as the ASA aim to develop new talent for the future.
This move is seen as a massive blow to many teams outside Alexandria looking to exploit the market as they may not have any choice but to look elsewhere or wait until summer.
