Re: 2015 World Cup qualifying centralised friendlies
*Played 3rd June*
Craitland 3-0 Ranentsi
17' - Ĵ. Ólsen
50' - J.M. Juliaĵsen
67' - F. Gaärsen (pen.)
World Cup hosts Craitland finished their centralised friendly campaign with another comfortable home win over Ranentsi. Rarely challenged throughout the match, the Craits took the lead though Ĵulian Ólsen's side-footed finish. Despite dominating the first half, the home side were unable to add another until just after the break. Young forward Jan-Morteņ Juliaĵsen, on his first international start, was allowed a free header from a cross and converted easily. Juliaĵsen was replaced by Freddie Gaärsen shortly after, and the substitute added to his impressive scoring tally with a blasted penalty after being brought-down, sealing the victory.
Nova England 0-2 Mercury
71' - W. Fizeau-Blake
87' - E. Foxon
Mercury finalised their start-of-the-year build-up with another win to maintain their unbeaten record, keeping another clean sheet to emphasise their defensive qualities. The Nova English side, whose qualifying attempt left a lot to be desired for for an evolving team, gave their parent nation a run for their money, but tired late on to concede the decisive goals. Wilmont Fizeau-Blake displayed some fast footwork to find his way into the box and unleash a low, hard effort across the goal and in to end the stalemate. A second was added a matter of minutes before the final whistle as the Foxon brothers combined; captain Joe took the ball to the bye-line before laying it back to Edward, who struck a shot beyond the reach of the 'keeper and into the centre of the net from twelve yards. Now the real work begins for the World Cup holders as this summer's finals are quickly approaching.
