SEMI-FINALS
Gerenia and Mercury played out a very tight and cagey battle in order to try to progress to the final, where the winner would play Senya. Both sides seemed to be cancelling each other out in the midfield, but Esther May's free-kick about 20 minutes in started the first of many near-misses, with her dipping effort about an inch over the bar. Mariane Cirut then responded with a shot from outside the box, but the keeper got a glove on it to stop it from flying into the top left corner.
The second half saw more drab performances, with neither side test the others' goalie. May almost nabbed a winner late on, but her effort rebounded off the post and wide.
The game moved into extra time, but the game always seemed destined for penalties, and so it did go down to spot kicks.
Gerenia 0-0 Mercury (a.e.t.; score after 90 mins: 0-0; Gerenia win 4-2 on penalties.)
Penalty shoot-out:
Daniele Hedrîn - Missed
Esther May - SCORED
Edile Riera - SCORED
Charlie Jackson - Saved
Mariane Cirut - SCORED
Lisa Abbott - Saved
Gebreele Talnj - SCORED
Mary Small - SCORED

THIRD PLACE PLAY-OFF
Birgeshir and Mercury had only pride to play for in Lutsan in this innaugural Women's World Championships tournament, but both sides were giving it their absolute best, trying to get their hands on a medal. Damla Demircikojka was tested early on, having to get down low to her left in order to keep out Esther May, before Ækela Katırcıkojka rattled the crossbar with a volley from distance. It wasn't long before the game sparked into life, with Charlie Jackson breaking into the Birgeshir box, only to be felled by Müge Bardækçıkojka. Esther May took the penalty, but keeper Demircikojka was equal to it, diving onto it and bringing it into her chest.
The second half started a little bit more laid back, although both sides still were pressing. Infact, the game's opening goal came out of nothing midway through the half, with full-back Berna Bælik, hoofing the ball upfield, and Mercurian defender Alice Kirby slipping over as she was about to control it in her own half, allowing Enise Kundækçı to pounce and dribble the ball back into the box, before playing it square to Sıla Dëmircilojka, who controlled it, and passed it on further to Isi-Em-Kheb Solak, who from the corner of the 6 yard box rolled the ball home into an empty net. Mercury's response was swift, with Esther May playing through substitute Jennifer Kelso, making her first appearence of the tournament, who slotted between the keeper's legs from the edge of the box just 90 seconds after her side fell behind. Both sides missed good oppurtunities to win the game, but it was Mercury who would claim third place, when another substitute, Olivia Saunders, headed in from an Esther May corner in the last minute of injury time to give her nation the win.
Birgeshir 1-2 Mercury
68' Isi-Em-Kheb Solak
70' Jennifer Kelso
90'+3' Olivia Saunders

2015 WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS FINAL
The World turned to Svorgas' 115,000 capacity stadium, The Snakepit, for the first ever Women's World Championships final, which pitted Apollonian rivals Gerenia and Senya, who had contested the initial all-women's match on Micras.
In front of a full crowd, the delegates, the president of FADESS and the WMFA, Barnaby Rudolph, Barnaby Hands, the President of Senya, and Lisa Anna-Copthorpe, minister of Women, were presented to the teams by their captains, prior to the national anthems.
Gerenia kicked off the first half, kicking from right-to-left, and were presented with the first opportunity of the game within 2 minutes, with Gebreele Talnj running down the flank and cutting into the box, where she played the ball back to Daniele Hedrîn, but her shot was wild and went well over the bar from 18 yards out. Gerenia were able to control possession early on, and almost took the lead when a Talnj cross was deflected goalwards inadvertently by Senyan defender Janie Heller, but Lösë Jonsen was able to smash the ball clear off the line, although in doing so she tore a muscle in her leg, meaning with just 7 minutes played, Senya had to make a change, with Robyn Hartford having to come on at the back. Senya were being pegged back, and Gerenia finally got the chance to take the lead when Hedrîn broke into the box 1-on-1 with the keeper, only for Heller to haul her down to the ground from behind. Heller was dismissed by the referee, much to the Senyan players and fans' liking, before Mariane Cirut thumped the resulting penalty into the top-right corner, beyond the keeper who had guessed the right way. Senya needed to respond, but Gerenia were defending very competently, restricting Senya to a handful of shot from distance, although Izzy Saint-Claire clipped the crossbar with an effort from 30 yards. Gerenia though were completely over-running 10-man Senya, and doubled their advantage with about 10 minutes left of the first half, with Cirut playing in Hedrîn, who coolly slotted the ball beyond the keeper. Gerenia could have bagged a third, had it not been for some heroic Senyan defending, but they still went into the break 2-0 down.
Senya went to a 4-3-2 at half-time, throwing on Andrea Cuiler in defence, but Gerenia were still dominating. The extra advantage of still having all 11 players was showing, which was starting to make some Senyan players think that they had to try and get a Gerenian sent off. Unfortunatly, this lead to a series of dives and confrontational play by some Senyan players, although the referee was having none of it, showing a yellow card to Lucy Caterham after she went down holding her face on the halfway line, after Daniele Stirik had run past her. However, the behaviour was frustrating the Gerenians, and after about a quarter of an hour had passed in the second half, trouble erupted, when Caterham again dived looking for a free-kick, which the referee dismissed, only for Caterham and Gerenian defender Andrese Evarsek to start shoving each other, before Evarsek head-butted her opponent. Whilst the referee did not see the incident, the lineswoman did, and as a result Evarsek was shown a straight red, whilst Cateham was also dismissed with her second yellow. Both sides seemed a little phased by this, but Senya were able to capitalise, with Izzy Saint-Claire finding space out on the right flank, dribbling the ball in, before firing a low shot beyond the keeper to put the Senyans back into the match. Gerenia were all of a sudden on the backfoot, but Senya seemed unable to find an equaliser. In the final minute of stoppage time, they got a corner, sending goalkeeper Bernadette Ferry up as an extra body. However, Kristîne Äkars caught the ball and punted it upfield. Daniele Hedrîn ran with the ball past the halfway line, although by the time she had done so, Senyan defender Andrea Cuiler had caught up, but Hedrîn slotted the ball across to Alîne Ändaks, who had ran forwards quickly to help her team-mate, and she thumped the ball into the empty net from 13 yards out, rounding out a win for Gerenia, and giving them a well deserved title.
