2018 Confederational Championship Host Bidding
2018 Confederational Championship Host Bidding
So it's high time to open up the application process for hosting next year's confederational tournaments! Each region's finals will take centre stage next summer!
The qualifiers will be held in their usual period of January-June, with the Confederations Cup being played over the same period in which the holders and hosts of each regional championships will compete in place of qualifying, having received automatic berths in their respective finals. Therefore, not only will the successful hosts get to stage their own tournament, their team will also have a chance at official silverware before it's even started!
While all four tournament sizes and berths have yet to be finalised - with the end-of-year rankings and membership numbers to dictate that - the FMF would like to suggest that any interested nations tailor their bids for the possibility of hosting a tournament involving eight teams; which is likely to be the largest field each could see. Any adjustments needed to cater for a smaller tournament shall be made once the hosts have been announced and qualification organised.
This bidding process shall remain open for six weeks and any bids received after November 17th will be disregarded. Successful hosts will then be announced shortly afterwards, following an FMF Executive vote, before the draws for each confederation's qualifying rounds are made in the days after. Qualification will begin on the last Wednesday of January and will take place over the same period of time as the familiar World Cup rounds.
As per a decision of the FMF council, no joint bids will be permitted for this competition, due to the format of the qualifiers and the Confederations Cup. Additionally, Lakkvia, Calbion, Hamland (should they return to Micras) and Elwynn will be barred from hosting having held the last editions of the confederation championships.
Could any prospective hosts please complete the form below with as much relevant information as possible and, at your discretion, any factors which make your bid more suitable than any others!

Nation Name: Florian Republic
Association: AEFA
Number of Stadiums: 8 (1 under construction).
Government: Republic
Number of Leagues: Three professional leagues, four amateur
Number of Teams in Premier Division: 10 (to expand to 12 for the 2018-19 season).
Why do you think you deserve to host the competition?: Football is a super popular sport which is played all the way from grassroots level to professional level. Our country will have no problems with our stadiums as they are all built to a jaw-dropping standard. Virtually every Florian Premier League match is sold out and even lower division teams receive about a 70-85% gate. The atmosphere of the fans is amazing and is unique and the Florian Premier League is a league which has gained massive popularity already even though it has not finished one season. The government is completely supportive of this bid and has expressed that this competition would bring a great revenue and would give football a new market to be in.
Transport links are in place such as the brand new Railway, highways and motorways plus three airports. These travel links will be free of charge if supporters show their tickets to an officer. All qualified teams will have access to the many 5* star hotels and other facilities such as spas, cinemas, nightclubs etc. All qualified teams will also be allocated a training base from a Florian Premier League or Championship side. The Florian Republic overall is super crazy about football and the country has so much potential in the future. A Copa Apollonia in the Florian Republic would benefit AEFA and the sport as a whole.

Association: CTFA
Number of Stadiums: 8
Government: Federal constitutional monarchy
Number of Leagues: 3 professional, 4 semi-professional, 8 amateur, 15 total, 8 tiers
Number of Teams in Premier Division: 12
Why do you think you deserve to host the competition?: Vyktory has a rich history of success in domestic club football, with multiple CTFA Cup final appearances and now internationally after a Quarter Final appearance in the World Cup. Vyktory also has much tournament hosting experience with the old Galatian Cups, the Devon Shield, the FMRL World Cup, the Women's World Championships and is also the home to the Micras Cricket Federation. Vyktory's people are very welcoming, tolerant and the entire country is a melting pot after welcoming waves and waves of immigrants and refugees after such events as the Hammish Civil War, the USSO's recent campaigns and the Safirian Crisis. On top of that, the country's vast resources mixed with a mostly public economy have led to a massive amount of infrastructure, health, education and welfare spending, creating a form of liberal paradise, akin to the fictional countries of Scandinavia.

^Inside the arctic circle, highly unrecommended for international competitions
Government: Neo-Feudal Federal Oligarchy.
Number of Leagues: Two: One professional league & one amateur league.
Number of Teams in Premier Division: Nine.
Why do you think you deserve to host the competition?:
- The Imperial Republic is a vast and diverse multi-cultural empire that is keen to extend the very best of Benacian hospitality to its neighbours and to the world. We have a long history of involvement in professional sports including professional football under the banner of the FMF and the "Pro Soccer League", organised by the Shireroth Association Football League, is one of the foremost within the WMFA area.
- The diverse states and dominions of the Imperial Republic enjoy strong regional transportation links.
- Our ancient highways have been receiving regular maintenance since the appointment of an Imperial Commissioner for Highways in 1642 (November 2016). Since the establishment of a force of Imperial Marshals in 1645 (February 2017) these highways have been largely free of bandits, stranglers and apex predators.
- At present the only international airport open to foreigners is Shirekeep Airport in the Imperial County, however regular airship services connect Shirekeep to most cities in eastern Benacia.
- The traditional port of disembarkation for foreigners is the free-port of Musica in Brookshire. Chartered river services, either to the airship terminal at Meisor or alternatively along the full length of the Red Elwynn, are the most efficient method of reaching the capital from there. In general, riverine and coastal shipping services are a cost efficient method of moving between the major cities.
- The land borders of the Imperial Republic remain closed and under quarantine. The only exceptions are the international borders with Tellia (including the Tellian Mandate) and the Sxiro-Kalgachi Designated Exchanges Point on the common frontier. Unpleasant consequences attend upon those attempting to enter Shireroth overland from the ungoverned spaces of inner Benacia.
- The internal security situation in Shireroth is presently favourable. Banditry, as noted, has been mostly suppressed in all states and dominions east of Mishalan, there are no ongoing civil wars of note to report, and instances of daemonic incursions have mostly been isolated to Demonsfall, the State of Malarboria and subterranean portions of the city of Shirekeep. Indeed the overall situation is the most favourable it has been in decades and individual travellers can accordingly reduce their security details down to single figures. Travelling in groups of five or more and only during daylight hours is usually still recommended however.
- Shireroth is a land of the exotic and the unfamiliar, in terms of culture, religion and cuisine. It has much to offer the world and we look forward to hosting a successful Benacia Cup.
- The SAFL is a strong supporter of the Respect Campaign and will advance that agenda at all host venues if awarded the hosting rights for the Benacia Cup.

Nation Name: Mercury
Association: EMUFA
Number of Stadiums: 7
Freddie Mercury Memorial Arena, 50,000
May Road, 33,500
Ironworks Road, 32,000 (expanding to 40,000)
Taylor Sporting Club, 30,000
Montreaux Road, 27,000
Galileo Ground, 23,000
Huntingdon Avenue Ground, 12,000 (expanding to 18,000)
Leader: President Joe Foxon
Government: Representative Democracy
Number of Leagues: 61 (over 13 tiers)
Number of Teams in Premier Division: 12
Why do you think you deserve to host the competition?: Mercury has previously hosted the competition on one occasion, in 2012, where the team were defeated by Hamland in the final. Since 2012, Mercury has gone on to win the competition once, and also an FMF World Cup. Football has always been well-supported in Mercury, so big crowds are guaranteed, and with the Mercurian transport system undergoing a major revamp this year, it will be easier than ever to follow your team, with all stadiums having their own Metro stations. Fans will be able to travel to all games involving their nation, with travel between cities included in the price of the match ticket, and neutrals will be able to purchase smart cards which will grant them entry into their choice of matches, as well as travel. For fans unable to travel to the matches, fan parks will be set up in all state capitals and some smaller cities, with giant screens, refreshment tents, and the best atmosphere outside of the stadium itself.
Mercury's infrastructure is already pre-existing, with all venues selected having sufficient capacity already. Two of the venues had expansions already scheduled, and will be finished by March 2018.

Why do you think you deserve to host the competition?: North Antarctica has always been big on football, hosting the Copa Apollonia in 2012, and reaching the final in 2014, before its relocation to the CTFA. Since then, the team have qualified for the World Cup in 2015, reaching the play-off round, and in 2016 they narrowly missed out on qualification for the CiboTap Championships, losing in a play-off to Greater Sangun. With a pre-existing infrastructure, and the Republic of Mercury's promise to financially back any sporting competitions that take place on its soil, a tournament in North Antarctica is sure to be a success.
Re: 2018 Confederational Championship Host Bidding
