Florian Premier League to trial VAR for 2018-19 season
It was confirmed on the evening of January 18th, 2018, that VAR (Video Assistant Referring) will be trialled at all televised matches of the Florian Premier League next season. The move comes in after the numerous mistakes made by the referees last season. The VAR system is currently not part of the FMF laws of the game and it is believed that the Florian FA will be the first football federation to use the system. Video referring has four different types of calls that can be reviewed.
[*]Goals and whether violations were made in the process.
[*]Decisions on penalties.
[*]Decisions on red cards
[*]Mistaken identity of a player.
The Florian FA hopes that VAR will benefit Florian football and it also hopes that many other FMF federations follow.
