Hoenn 0-0 Senya
Hoenn once again gave a textbook defensive performance in their second friendly in a week, as they held and frustrated World Cup finalists Senya to a goalless draw. Although nobody was able to find the back of either net, Senya's attacking force was in good form and created chances, but strong clearances and a number of acrobatic saves from Genji Miyagi kept names like Danetskë and Hands from breaking the deadlock. The Hoennese's own inability to threaten their opponent's net again may be cause for alarm, though having faced both Gerenia and Senya back-to-back, an opening EMU finals match against Nova English Korea is certainly less daunting a task ahead. Senya now head to Freeland for a first ever meeting.

Mercury 3-2 Craitland
6' - J.M. Juliaĵsen
13' - J. Foxon (pen.)
43' - A. Perryman
45' - J. Foxon
72' - W. Bentham
Mercury and Craitland renewed their rivalry with an enthralling end-to-end encounter which saw the hosts take the bragging rights for the third time and tie-up the pairs' series. Mercury came back from behind twice in the first half, with Joe Foxon levelling both times. Craitland started well, with young forward Jan-Morteņ Juliaĵsen's pace too much for Chris Deacon as he strode past to latch onto a delivery and slot home within minutes of the kick-off. Mercury retaliated shortly after, as Jack Partridge was felled accidentally by Daniel Hjansen in the area and captain Foxon stepped-up to find the back of the net from the spot; something he failed to do in the side's last friendly against Caputia. Both teams maintained the break-neck pace of the match throughout the half, and Craitish midfielder Adám Perryman hit his second goal in two games with a sliced effort into the net after being found by Will Zóma's drag-back, but Foxon's dominant unchallenged header in injury time from Wilmont Fizeau-Blake's corner ensured the Craits did not take a lead into the interval. Craitland subbed 'keeper Jamie Vallensen out for Tim Ula at half time, as the manager's selection dilemma continues, with other changes later in the match being attack-orientated. Mercury were the stronger team in the second half, buoyed by a combination of momentum from the goal before the break and home support, but had to wait until the final twenty to eventually go ahead. Zóma was the Craits' biggest threat, but his finishing wasn't as clinical as William Bentham's was, with the winger finding himself in the right place to the right time to sidefoot coolly back across Ula and in after being picked-out at the back stick from another Fizeau-Blake corner. The Mercurians saw-out the win with relative ease; the addition of Lydveldt Jonmikeltsen gave no extra intent to the visitors' offence, and a first warm-up win came ahead of hosting the EMUs. Craitland will name their final twenty-man Benacia Cup squad before their last friendly; at home versus Raspur next Wednesday.

North Antarctica 2-1 Gerenia
51' - W. Maynard
67' - J. Fiorentino
85' - Á. Arĵan
North Antarctica put in an impressive display against a Gerenia side who must have not been able to withstand the cold as they gave themselves confidence ahead of their first tournament finals in three years. Gerenia were the better side throughout the first half, however, but were unable to get the better of Quentin Markhams in goal, while the Napians' attacks were slightly disjointed as passes went awry. The second 45 saw the jigsaw fit together for the hosts, with the partnership of William Maynard and Jonathan Fiorentino forging a goal and an assist each; Fiorentino's cross inside shortly after the restart found Maynard's header low into the net, with Maynard supplying Fiorentino midway through the half as the offside trap was beaten and the 25 year-old could finish well one-on-one. Gerenia, albeit stunned, rallied and continued to threaten, and got their goal in the closing stages. Substitute striker Ábelder Arĵan, on for Frabris Balbîn, was on hand to half-volley Zelmar Toscano's cross home from close range after the Napian defence was left static for the pass. The hosts held-on for only their second victory this calendar year, as Gerenia will look to find a way to fix what cracks their are in their team before their trip to Caputia in a week's time.

*Played July 1st*
Florian Republic 4-3 Merenolitovina
17' - S. Butcher (pen.)
22' - D. Campos
38' - G. Levandovskiy
56' - F. Bruno
75' - B. Neumann
84' - S. Butcher
87' - R. Vega
The Florian Republic and Merenolitovina played-out a seven-goal thriller, with the former eventually coming away with the spoils as the lead changed hands on more than one occasion. Sam Butcher's penalty just after the quarter-hour opened the scoring after Cristiano Ramirez was brought down unceremoniously by Feivel Herzog; a challenge which saw the Florian talisman substituted to prevent further injury and the defender go into the book, while Derek Campos doubled the lead minutes later through a header direct from Dave Wheeler's out-swinging corner. Merenolitovina snatched a goal back before the break, as momentum began to shift, with striker Gavrel Levandovskiy creating space before firing through the legs of Patrick Marshall and in. The Merenolitovinans began the second half well and pulled level ten minutes later, with Frenkel Bruno's downward header too well-placed for the 'keeper to deal with after Barak Weitzman's delicate cross in after a sprint down the right. As the game wore-on, Merenolitovina were the stronger side and made their dominance count through substitute Ben Neumann's first touch of the ball; the 33 year-old forward came on for a corner and Weitzman got his second assist as he picked him out of the crowd for another headed finish high into the goal. However, the Florians rallied in the final ten minutes, and one again created a tie as Butcher scored his second of the night, this time from open play as Ryan Clark's run and lay-off left an easy tap-in for the forward. The hosts' lead was restored half an hour after they lost it soon afterwards, with another substitute in Ronald Vega scoring. A long Marshall clearance upfield was knocked forward by Butcher, and Vega was quicker than Herzl De Castro to the ball down the left and finished professionally against Ben Szhmuel at his near post. Merenolitovina were unable to find a fourth of their own in the final few minutes and fell to a first loss of the year, following an unbeaten qualifying campaign, and will head into their first tournament finals with their egos slightly deflated. The Florian Republic, on the other hand, have now won back-to-back friendlies, both from losing positions, and are gaining confidence ahead of their own finals tournament début later in the month.

Caputia 0-2 Gerenia
6' - F. Balbîn
21' - F. Balbîn
Fabris Balbîn scored a first-half brace as Gerenia secured a good win over Caputia following their shock defeat to North Antarctica. A lightning start saw Balbîn find the back of the Caputian net with two quality individual goals; a rapid run through the defence and slotted finish to open, and a superb first-time finish following Zelmar Toscano's chipped ball through to follow quarter of an hour later. Caputia played well despite being behind, but were second best throughout, with Andrew Miller's powerful strike sailing over the bar being their best effort of the game. Caputia head into their EMU opener with a defeat, but can take a draw against Mercury as inspiration to their first competitive tournament, as Gerenia restored form with the Copa Apollonia looming.

Craitland 3-1 Raspur
36' - S. Kheldumeh
53' - W. Zóma
78' - J.M. Juliaĵsen
81' - Alexis P.
Craitland won their final pre-Benacia Cup friendly after coming from behind to beat Raspur in the second half. Sfeir Kheldumeh's goal shortly before half time put the visitors ahead against the run of play, with the Cherry Trees forward combining with his club-mate Aprem Neil to slot home past Francis Hjansen. The Craits turned the match around after the break, however, with Will Zóma heading in at the back post from Alexis Pellegrino's cross shortly after the restart, before Jan-Morteņ Juliaĵsen put the side ahead via a sidefoot from the middle of the box after Alexis' run and squared ball. Alexis added a goal to his two assists in the final ten minutes to double Craitland's lead; substitute Freddie Gaärsen's touch around the defence left the winger with acres in which to sprint before tucking away his second international strike. Craitland now travel to Shireroth having scored nine in their three friendlies, a great sign for fans, as Raspur's players look forward to a summer off ahead of next season.

Freeland 1-2 Senya
29' - B. Hands
44' - J. Maytek
86' - R. Laskowski
Senya continued their unbeaten run from this summer with a relatively easy victory over Freeland away from home, as two first-half strikes down their famed left side were the difference-makers. Captain Barnaby Hands' cultured finish into the far-hand side of the net from the edge of the area after a well-strung passing move was followed with Jan Maytek's net-buster inside the area after Hands had made his way through the defence and set-up his fellow midfielder. Senya were unfortunate to not add to their lead, as Danetskë hit the side netting with shots twice, and Robert Laskowski's finish in the latter stages after being played through one-on-one flattered the Freelandians in what was a one-sided affair. While Freeland have no competitive football to look forward to for the remainder of the year, Senya take-on Jingdao in just over three weeks in their opener in Coria.

Xang Muang 1-0 Gerenian South Keltia
90' - V. Nimol
Xang Muang followed-up their victory in the Emerging Nations Cup with a last-gasp win over Gerenian South Keltia. Experienced striker Veasna Nimol's close-range finish off the bench in the aftermath of a corner was enough to snatch the bragging rights after a evenly-matched encounter among two of the EMUFA's less-successful sides.

*Played 5th July*
Kingdom of Coria 1-0 Vyktory
4' - U. Kocić
Copa Apollonia hosts Coria shaded a win over Vyktory's resilient defence thanks to an early goal. The Corians scored with their first attack, with left-back Danijel Despotović's overlapping run ending with a deep cross into the box, where Uroš Kocić was ready to pounce. Although the striker's initial header was saved well by Kevin Stokes, the rebound was poked home by Kocić after he reacted quicker than marker Martin Pryce to the loose ball. Despite going behind, Vyktory were the stronger performers for the first half, but efforts from Leo Gold and Kevin Arland were saved by Danilo Vujić. Coria's best chances to add to their lead came after the break, with Kocić guilty of skying a close-range header while strike partner Aleksandar Mileusnić curled a shot from outside the box against the palms of a leaping Stokes near the game's end. Arland created for Vyktory, but ultimately the Corians held firm to seal a win over Vyktory; something two former World Cup winning sides were unable to achieve last summer in Senya.

The Florian Republic will play Dura at Red Bear Park next Tuesday.
Re: Summer friendly matches
Lamantia 2-0 Ranentsi
21' Sven Ebersbacher
67' Reuben Frederiksen
Lamantia signed off their only warm-up game ahead of the Copa Apollonia with a convincing 2-0 win over Ranentsi in a friendly at the Colgrad Stadium. Lamantia dominated the early stages and had several chances to take the lead within the opening exchanges of the game. The breakthrough didn't take long though, with Sven Ebersbacher finishing off a lovely passing move. The hosts could have doubled their advantage before half-time, but defender Florian Kluge's header from a corner was tipped over the crossbar by the Ranentsian goalkeeper. Lamantia did make their dominance count midway through the second half when Reuben Frederiksen took advantage of some half-hearted defending to skip through and smash home a second. Ranentsi, who missed out on a place in the ongoing EMUs in Mercury, didn't really look up for the challenge as Lamantia cruised to victory.

Re: Summer friendly matches
Florian Republic 2-0 Dura
21' - Parker
73' - Ramirez (pen.)
The Florian Republic were able to continue their run of good form during their preparations for their first ever Copa Apollonia campaign, as they cruised to an easy win over a Dura side who were only 3 points away from joining them in Coria. The result never really looked in doubt, as the hosts dominated possession from the outset, although it took just over 20 minutes for them to grab the first goal, with Tom Parker's fine header finding its way into the net. The Florians had a golden chance to double their advantage, but Cristiano Ramirez's powerful strike could only hit the side netting. Ramirez was again unlucky just before the break, as his free kick ricocheted off the crossbar and out, so Dura could consider themselves lucky to go into half time only one goal down.
Dura seemed refreshed following half time, and their best chance of the game came just minutes into the second period, as Oscar Sariöglu had his shot palmed wide by Marshall. Jamie McKinlay was booked for Dura after he hauled down Sam Butcher, and Ramirez was finally able to grab his goal from the resulting penalty, although Stack guessed correctly. That brought the game to the end of its script, as both sides seemed happy to play the game out to its conclusion, and the Florians head to Coria with a 5-game winning streak and a lot of optimism.
