Super Cup Proposal

Hello everyone.
I have noticed that each Confederation of the FMF does not have a 'Super Cup' competition between the winners of each confederation's continental competitions. I have noticed they were an attempt to establish one in the EMUFA in 2007. Therefore I propose that each confederation implements a Super Cup for next season.
I have listed two options on a potential format for the competitions.
They are as follows:
  • The winner's of the confederation's Champions' League and Cup tournaments play at a neutral venue to be decided at random each year.
  • The winner's of the confederation's Champions' League and Cup tournaments play over a two-leg series home and away with no away goals rule and extra time and penalties if the aggregate score is still tied.
If the winner of either continental competition folds for whatever reason (nation removed off the MCS map), the runners-up of each respective competition will be invited.
I would like to hear your thoughts on my proposal and if everything is good, get voted through.
Thank you!

I actually like the idea of a pre-season super cup, I always put one in Vyktory's leagues so I feel it would be cool for the continentals. I prefer the one game on neutral ground format due to its versatility.

I don't see why we shouldn't have Super Cups for each confederation in addition to having the FMF Champions' League as a "champion of champions" competition. The inaugural EMUFA season included one, so there is some precedent, just we've reorganised international club tournaments multiple times since then.

I'm personally on the side of leaning toward single-leg matches if we did go ahead with Super Cups, mainly because the schedule is pretty packed already, but also because two-legged finals aren't something we do with other competitions. My assumption is that we'd hold these as "curtain raisers" for the following season from the relevant finals, so they would be played in the September? :)

Aye, that sounds good having them in September. A single leg is fine by me.

I'd also like to propose that member nations should be able to bid to host the Super Cups. As this will only be one member, we could just have bidding open for one week, but require a minimum of 20,000 capacity stadia to host the game. This would potentially allow for a wider array of nations to bid to host a competition. We could also encourage bids from nations outside of the FMF's core.

Totally agree there Barnaby.

Not sure I see the point to be honest, I think we'd be better off including the Cup winners in the FMF Champions' League instead.

I do like the idea of expanding the FMF Champions' League to include cup winners. Maybe it's possible to expand the FMF Champions' League and still introduce the Continental Super Cups?

Having both would be overkill, and I just don't see having even more competitions as being necessary

I'd support the idea of Super Cups more than the addition of Cup winners qualifying for the FMF Champions' League, if we were to change anything. I don't feel winning a Cup should merit such qualification, but a one-off match against their respective confederation's Champions' League winner is fair reward.

I'd also like to extend on Barnaby's idea in saying that we should also do the same for the hosting of each season's Champions' League and Cup finals - perhaps with the ability to backdate host stadium information for previous finals (though obviously sans-bidding) :)
