Port Ulje vs. Thracistan friendly (24/04)
*Played 24th April*
Port Ulje 2-2 Thracistan
23' - F. Abasi
30' - K. Zakarija
73' - C. Emrenin
89' - C. Emrenin
Thracistan came from two goals down to steal a late draw in Port Ulje thanks to a brace from youngster Can Emrenin. The Uljeans looked in control at the break after some composed play which led to two goals before the half-hour; Faramarc Abasi opening the scoring with a powerful finish after timing his run to perfection to meet a cross from Kazem Tadžik, with the lead being doubled seven minutes later through Kambiz Zakarija's cut in from the left and low shot that sneaked past Berkay Şanlı. The Thracis left it late before starting their comeback, with Can Emrenin finding the back of the net with less than twenty minutes remaining via a first-time shot from brother Tırak's through ball to beat Mehmet Hulusović's dive. The teenager was also on hand to level the match in the final stages, as he outpaced Ranko Petrović to a long ball forward and calmly slotted past Hulusović in a one-on-one situation.
Whilst playing this friendly in their qualifying bye-week, Port Ulje's slim chances of making this summer's World Cup were extinguished as tonight's results in Group F put them out of mathematical contention. Thracistan now have a full collection of results from their opening exhibition matches as an FMF member, with one win, one draw and one loss to their name.
