Kingdom of Coria vs. Thracistan friendly (08/05)
*Played 8th May*
Kingdom of Coria 3-0 Thracistan
15' - A. Mileusnić
58' - S. Pešić
79' - U. Kocić
Coria continued their successful year with an easy win over Thracistan in a friendly during their qualifying bye week. An early Aleksandar Mileusnić strike set them on their way, with Martin Ćorluka's headed lay-off from a ball forward putting the Thraci back line out of action as the Ramez White Stars striker broke free to slide home. Thracistan rallied after going behind, however, and held the Corians back successfully for the remainder of the half. After the break, Coria's experience showed through, with a number of chances created before a second goal went in. Saša Pešić's pace and skill was too much for Manuelo Roket to contain, and the midfielder cut inside from the right to place a left-footed strike into the bottom corner from just inside the area before the hour mark. A third came twenty minutes later; Pešić again causing trouble before his delivery found the head of Uroš Kocić to put the ball powerfully past a flapping Berkay Şanlı from close range. Thracistan's opportunities weren't entirely short, but Danilo Vujić was equal to efforts from Eden Valbuena and Can Emrenin when they did threaten.
Being out of competitive action this week, Coria could only watch as Gotzborg closed the gap in their group to four points, but with two matches to go, the Corians are still in pole position to reach their first World Cup. A win over bottom-placed Qyzylqaystan in a fortnight will guarantee qualification regardless of what happens elsewhere in the group.
