Kingdom of Coria vs. Lakkvia friendly (23/06)
*Played 23rd June*
Kingdom of Coria 2-0 Lakkvia
20' - S. Pešić
44' - A. Mileusnić (pen.)
Coria's World Cup preparations began well with the visit of Lakkvia giving them a 2-0 win, although not to anyone's surprise as the team's unbeaten run now stretches to over a year since their last defeat. Both goals came in the first half, with the second period seeing both sides make changes which disrupted the flow of the game somewhat. Midfielder Saša Pešić opened after twenty minutes through an opportunistic shot following some quick passing in the final third, finding himself on the edge of the six-yard box unchallenged to tap in. Lakkvia were spirited if toothless, the epitome of their qualifying campaign, as Kristján Viðarsson was the only player to test the reflexes of Sašo Fornezi with a shot from distance.
Right before the interval, the Corians' lead was doubled with a gift of a goal. Nemanja Ahčev's tame effort was blocked stupidly by a flailing Ketil av Silmahamnum arm and a penalty was awarded. Forward Aleksandar Mileusnić stepped up and made no mistake with a shot to the 'keeper's left as he dived the opposite way. The goalless second half saw the best opportunities fall to the visitors, but Fornezi was in good form and will need to face better offences to be likely to concede in the group stages next month. Facing Alduria on the 30th should be a sterner test.
