Re: CTFA 2013 World Cup qualifiers
*Played today*
Zandarijn 2-1 Natopia
Zandarijn pulled-off a cunning comeback to reach only their second CiboTap final, condemning Natopia to a summer without a World Cup appearance in the process. Following a lifeless first half, in which the teams failed to break-down each other's defences, Natopia went ahead shortly after the break. The extravagantly-named George Valéry Saint-François Xavier showed his dominance in attack within the first five minutes of the half, beating Jan de Wijnen to the ball from Loki's curved ball into the area to bullet in from the centre of the area.
Zandarijn staged their fightback later in the half, allowing Natopia to feel comfortable with their lead, hoping to not concede a second. The now-Napian-based Mickaël Quelvennec was the lynchpin in the first goal's move, redirecting Daniël Lavan-Olsen's low cross into the area for William Tyas to tap-in at the back post. A second came shortly afterwards, with Natopia still reeling, with Krzijsztijan Aawlzeczaa's trademark long-range shot cannoning off the bar and falling to substitute forward Tom de Zyla, who made no mistake in placing the ball into the opposite side of the goal that Gaillard Concorde dived to previously. Natopia, shell-shocked, failed to find a way back into things in the final 15 and will miss-out on the World Cup for the first time since 2009.

Alexandria 4-0 Treisenberg
Treisenberg's virgin foray into tournament football was cut-short as they were comfortably overpowered by Alexandria, who sealed their place in Zandarijn-Hammish Monovia with ease. The Blues didn't waste any time in opening the scoring, as Florent Lassana-Traoré beasted his way past Sebastian Metzelsacker in defence before putting the ball under Stefan Sommer's dive. Lassana-Traoré doubled his tally before twenty minutes, expertly finishing from a narrow angle after some nifty footwork, chipping over Sommer as he loomed forward. Treisenberg, who will be succeeded by Leichenberg's team following CiboTap, had a solid chance of scoring in the first half as well, but Kristian Jentzsch had his effort tipped over by Diego Pedro as the forward shot under pressure.
The Treisenbergers were the first to launch an attack after half time, but once again, Alexandria had Pedro to thank with a diving catch from Jürgen Littbarski's looping header from distance. Alexandria were clearly happy with a two-goal lead, but pushed forward more often as the half progressed, and a third on the hour mark put the game beyond doubt. A foul on Álexis Carrasco outside the box by Leon Anke opened-up a free-kick opportunity. Starlet Tamer Modrem stepped-up and smoothly turned the ball inside Sommer's right-hand post without question. A final fourth was turned-in with just under ten to go, as Carrasco - who is much in-demand this summer - was unmarked at the back post to bundle the ball over the line after Damián Sala's squared pass evaded clearance. With Treisenberg visibly down-heartened, they gave little competition near the end, and Alexandria celebrated reaching the World Cup with the automatically-qualified Zandarijn the only team left to play this CiboTap.

Leichenberg Football Association wrote:Disappointing but far from unexpected.
The entire team is hereby suspended pending a formal enquiry and possible disciplinary action. Even a solitary goal would have been enough to suggest grounds for future optimism, but a four-nil defeat is completely unacceptable to us. There is no room in Leichenberg for overpaid prima donnas who fail to deliver results commensurate with their expense.
This sad episode is further proof- if it were needed- of the fundamental inadequacy of baseline-level humanity.

Well, with Gotzborg back in the FMF, most of the living players will become eligible for their team again (as they were throughout 2011), so Leichenberg can rebuild now with a fully-lich side

Re: CTFA 2013 World Cup qualifiers
*Played yesterday*
With the CiboTap final being played in Birgeshir, there was less at stake than originally planned, thanks to Zandarijn's defeat of Natopia in the semi-finals meaning Alexandria were already guaranteed a place in the World Cup this year. Both teams were at full strength, with Alexandria coming off the back of a convincing semi-final victory over Treisenberg.Spoiler!
With Zandarijn having the experience of winning a CiboTap title over Alexandria, nobody expected a repeat of Les Bleus' last scoreline, but most thought the first half would be less devoid of action. The first half an hour went by with only one shot being registered on target, from Florent Lassana-Traoré. The deadlock was broken by the most unlikely source with just over ten minutes before the break. Arjen Paats' early cross was deflected behind by Cyril Kopaczewski, to allow the winger a corner. The ball was delivered by the Hamstadt man, and Prins Haven captain centre-back Jan de Wijnen was up from the back to head in from long-range. De Wijnen's header looped up and over the dive of Diego Pedro into the top corner from the edge of the area. With little to write home about following the goal, the half-time whistle blew.
Little changed in the second half, as both teams cancelled each other out. Neither side really broke the other down, but William Tyas had the best opportunity, blasting over with a rushed first-time effort after being played in by Daniël Lavan-Olsen. With less than twenty minutes to go, the Alexandrians made a key move, as Damián Sala replaced Álexis Carrasco. Sala's injection of pace coupled with the Zandt defence's fatigue made for an important factor. Mark Schneidau was outfoxed by the AS Ibelin man, whose clever touch brought him inside to curl a shot past Kleusen. The Zandt 'keeper was unable to get a fingertip to the well-placed effort and it bent inside the far post after bouncing once.
Sala's effect on the match continued five minutes later as the clock ticked over to 90'. A jinking run left Schneidau clueless as the winger made it to the bye-line before laying the ball back to where Jean-Pierre d'Oliviera was waiting. The Craitish-based midfielder hit a perfect shot with his laces into the top of the goal above Kleusen's reach from just inside the box. Two minutes later, the game was put to bed as Sala added his second goal. Coming-in from the left this time, he rounded Krzijsztijan Aawlzeczaa and poked the ball at Kleusen from an angle. Kleusen got a strong palm to the shot, but the ball ricocheted off the calf of Peter Vandem and back into Sala's path, where the winger was able to swiftly sidefoot into the space left in the goal with the last kick of the match. The win brought Alexandria their third CiboTap Championships, as Zandarijn will be wishing they could have made more from the game, with both teams now looking to continue their successes into the World Cup next month.

I feel for Zandarijn, same thing as what happened with Norwich's game against Arsenal

It got to about 82 minutes and I thought "we might actually win this" 'cause nothing was happening
