2014 FMF World Cup host bidding
Once again, it's time to open up bidding for hosting rights to the 2014 FMF World Cup. Keeping with the FMF's rotation policy of different confederations hosting the tournament, this year's is eligible to be hosted by either an EMUFA or a WMFA nation. Champions Hamland were our last EMUFA hosts in 2010, although they were losing finalists on that occasion, while in 2011, Shireroth hosted on behalf of the WMFA, losing out to Craitland in the final.
The bidding process will run from now until the 18th of December (giving those interested six weeks to compile and submit their bids), and bidding nations should fill-out the following form here:
EMUFA
Austbard
Craitland
Haifa
Høgmårk
Incontinentia
Indokistan
Interland
Juclandia
Lostisland
Lurk
Mercury
New Vaduz
Nova England
Nova English Korea
Passas
Pontus
Presburn
Sirocco
Taeland
Uantir
Valencia
WMFA
Amokolia
Batavia
Elwynn
Sanilla
Zeeburg
New nations which claim land within the EMUFA or WMFA "catchment" areas before the cut-off date for bidding will also be allowed to submit bids to host, should they so wish. Any nations which are removed from Micras before the deadline will not be permitted to bid.
Good luck to all bidding nations and let's all look forward to another fantastic FMF World Cup in 2014!

Removed Normark Silly Joe
I'm on quite good terms with the guys there, I'd actually be tempted to encourage them to bid for this! They're certainly football-mad enough!Deniz Yürük wrote:Indokistan would be interesting

Re: 2014 FMF World Cup host bidding
I have been asked to submit a bid on behalf of Indokistan by Tian Abdurahman.
Nation Name: Indokistan
Association: EMUFA
Number of Stadiums: 8Leader: Tian AbdurahmanSpoiler!
Government: Federal Presidential Republic
Number of Leagues: 1 (called Liga SepakBola)
Number of Teams in Premier Division: 25
Why do you think you deserve to host the world cup?: Indokistan is a nation that lives and breathes football! Although we have been based on MicroWiki for quite a time, we think it is time to get involved with Micras and what a better way to do so than by hosting Micras football's diamond event!
Our people are very friendly and would welcome Micras with open arms. We are delighted to have our bid backed by our friends in Senya, and we hope that this tournament would open contacts with many new friends across Micras!
Indokistan has a very big passion for football, with our 25 team league kicking off in November, which will hopefully start to get football in our nation moving along at a faster pace! Our recent participation in Tiana's Challenge Cup was our first experience of football outside the World Cup qualifiers, and it was a great experience to see our teams so close to winning the group! We want to develop our team in a squad of good players, and we recognise that to do so we must first play competitive matches against top teams, and so we hope that by hosting and participating in this World Cup, we can grow as a team and bring success back to Indokistan!

Re: 2014 FMF World Cup host bidding
Nation Name: Mercury
Confederation: EMUFA
Stadiums: 8
Freddie Mercury Memorial Arena, 50000
May Road, 33500
Ironworks Road, 32000
Taylor Sporting Club, 30000
Montreaux Road, 27000
Galileo Ground, 23000
Little Wembley, 19860
The Works Ground, 15000
Leader: President Joe Foxon
Government: Presidential Republic
Number of Leagues: 3 professional
Number of teams in Premier Division: 12
Why do you think you deserve to host the world cup?: Mercury is the fastest growing nation on Micras in terms of footballing success, appearing in an EMU final and a World Cup final within the first three years of our existence. Although still yet to win a major trophy, ambitions are high, and a home World Cup will most certainly spark a lot of excitement all across the country. It's not just Mercurians that would benefit however, as spectators with a valid match ticket will be given free travel between the stadium and their hotel, even if they're staying in a different Mercurian city, teams' accommodation and transport will be paid for by the Mercury FA, and taxes on food and drinks will be suspended for the duration of the tournament. As always, we want to give our guests the best possible experience, and hopefully convince a lot of people to return in the future. So come on, you're all invited to our party!

Fantastic to see interest from Indokistan for this (not overlooking Mercury's bid, of course)!

Re: 2014 FMF World Cup host bidding
Interland probably won't post a bid for 2014 FMFWC. We have organised successful EMU this year and consider it's time for some younger nation to host the World Cup, which will be a wonderful promotion of football in their country.

Re: 2014 FMF World Cup host bidding
Six weeks have now passed since the bidding process was first opened, and so submission are now CLOSED.
Thank you to Indokistan and Mercury for their bids. Voting will commence shortly, and the winning nation will be announced once a majority has been reached among the FMF Executives!

Re: 2014 FMF World Cup host bidding
The Executives have voted and a majority has been reached. With only two eligible Executives left to vote, and with three votes in favour, meaning a tie is not possible, Indokistan have been granted the hosting rights to the 2014 FMF World Cup!
We would like to extend our commiserations to Mercury, whose bid was reflective of their strength as an FMF member, but the overriding opinion among the voting Executives was to extend the tournament's influence into less experienced nations and so Indokistan's bid was chosen.
Congratulations, Indokistan, and we look forward to bringing the World Cup to our first ever landlocked host nation!

Re: 2014 FMF World Cup host bidding
Extract from a tabloid article (tell me if I need to get more angry ):
And the headline from the Mercurian Daily Mail:Fabricating Mercury's Flaws
The FMF has today shocked the footballing world by announcing Indokistan as the hosts of the next World Cup. The Executive Committee voted with a 3-0 majority in favour of the almost-equatorial country, where footballers will face scorching temperatures of up to 315K. Mercury's Joe Foxon was ineligible to vote on the hosting rights, and two members abstained from voting. There was anger among fans who packed out the Freddie Mercury Memorial Arena to hear the decision, with the subsequent pitch invasion causing thousands of Craites worth of damage. The Mercury FA has not yet released a statement, but we suspect they'll be more careful than we're about to be when we call the FMF a bunch of cheats.
Bloody foreigners awarded World Cup hosting and receive billions of Craites of benefits
