Re: AEFA World Cup qualifying
By the way, Joe, Nova England's bus was caught-up in traffic before our game on Wednesday, so they didn't have time for a warm-up... Or team talk... Or to put their boots on

That's not a problem though, because all of Craitland left the cooker on, so they've had to go all the way home. Also their dog ate them.

Senya decimate poor Lucerne, 10 goals, 7 scorers and a hat-trick for the debutant
Senya equalled their record victory today by smashing minnows Lucerne 10-0 at the newly renovated ĴetsStad in Dyas. 40,000 spectators knew that Senya would likely win comfortably - but a second half onslaught showed just how bad Lucerne were.
Senya took a long time to open the score - six minutes and forty-three seconds had elapsed before Jan Maytek nodded home a Barnaby Hands corner to put the Green Army in front. Despite the first XI being out, they played some rather cautious football, and took a further twelve minutes to double their advantage, when Gatkan Mena's through ball into the penalty area was latched onto by Čerder Vosin, who slotted home beyond the on-rushing keeper, a style of goal which would have a recurring theme in the match. Senya grabbed their third on the half-hour mark, when Ƨinkœ Zvet reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the box, smashing the ball hard into the top corner from three yards out. Senya rounded off the scoring for the first half when Vosin replicated his first goal on 41 minutes to make the scoreline four-nothing.
The second half saw the introduction of debutants Boris Kozaket and Döker vam Poltsam, replacing Vosin and Barnaby Hands respectively, whilst 20-year-old Garë Mendë was put on for Minyorletsken. The new front-line took a while to bond, with the first half of the second period containing some weak communication skills, but despite this Mendë smashed home a free-kick 17 minutes in from 25 yards to the half to make the score five-nil. However, with twenty minutes to go, the substitutes finally started to bond, and Boris Kozaket netted his first ever goal for his country in a move replicating Vosin's brace goals from the first half, again being played in by Mena. Seven minutes later and he netted his second goal, yet another carbon copy of his first, but this time in the 78th minute, not the 71st. And just twelve minutes after netting his first goal for his country, the debutant rounded off a hat-trick, again another through ball from Mena, only this time Kozaket rounded the keeper, stopped, and then passed the ball into the empty net, before celebrating his hat-trick and the fact his team were now eight-nothing up. A rather extravagant knee-slide was produced, in a game in which the Senyans seems almost embarrassed to celebrate out of respect for their opponents. Mena, after grabbing no less than five assists, grabbed a goal of his own. 40 yards from goal, seeing the keeper off his line, he decided to rub salt in the wounds of Levi Vailalo by lobbing the Charon Sharks goalie, a goal which sent the cheeks of the keeper rose red. The Senyans rounded off the day by hitting double figures by winning a late corner in the 90th minute, and sending the defenders up to give them a chance of scoring. Kalum Nëtek's header was as good as any striker, nodding home the Zvet cross to make the full time result Senya ten, Lucerne nil.

Sensational Senyans Secure Qualification; Green Army marching to Indokistan
Senya reached their first ever World Cup today after dispatching rivals Tiana 4-1 and getting a helping hand from Dura, who held off Lakkvia 1-1. Senya dominated through-out, but were behind after just 4 minutes and 35 seconds when Vincenzo D'Aquila curled in a delightful free-kick beyond the keeper from 25 yards after Karl Rœč gave away a sloppy free-kick on the edge of the box. Senya were playing well, and received a boost 24 minutes into the game, when the stadium announcer revealed that Dura had taken the lead over Lakkvia. Senya built on this and just 12-minutes later equalised after Barnaby Hands unleashed a fierce strike from the edge of the box into the roof of the net.
The second half began in the same vein, with the Senyans going all-out attack in search of World Cup qualification, and made it 2-1 when Jan Maytek headed home from a corner on the 57th minute mark. Hands volley in in the 74th minute to make it 3-1 before rounding off his hat-trick in the 85th minute with a supurb run through the defence from the flank, before slotting beyond the keeper, three minutes after news that Lakkvia had headed an equaliser. In the 91st minute, news filtered through that the Lakkvia game had ended 1-1, with the remaining 3-minutes being filled of Senyan fans chanting "Kopa Velt? Sanya preperasë" (World Cup? Senya's prepared) and "Invinsibal" (Invincible), before the referee blew his whistle and sent the crowd crazy, with the coaching staff, substitutes and fans all invading the pitch, before lifting up the players, before Hands climbed onto the top of the home bench, got hold of the stadium microphone, and started leading fans into the song "We're going to the World Cup" and "On the ball, Senya". The players were on the pitch for a full 30 minutes after the game, before stewards eventually corded off the fans and began the process of emptying the ground.
Meanwhile, the Senyan government has declared 7 days of national celebration, in honour of the team's achievement.
