Stormark National Team for AEFA World Cup qualifying
To whom this may concern:
Is it still possible to submit a list of players of the Stormark national team for the AEFA World Cup qualifying? (This is the first time that Stormark would submit such a list.)

As the qualifiers are an on-going fixture list over the course of five months, teams are not required to submit a limited-size squad as they would have to for a finals tournament. If you want to name a preferred starting line-up, then by all means you can, but you're free to change whatever you like throughout the campaign. You can find the most recent Storish tournament squad here, if you need to become more familiar with the players who have represented you over the last couple of years

But watch out for the 2010 World Cup squad, as that has a bunch of players who now play for Lakkvia. (I think).
Also, look up your 2013 Copa Apollonia squad as well, most of the free agents in 2012 (if not all) have been snapped up

How does that work itself out? Surely if they were part of a National team that has been in existence throughout their FMF membership they would never just change nationality?Senya wrote:a bunch of players now play for Lakkvia. (I think).

They were originally Hurmu players, but Hurmu left Micras in early 2010, so their players were transferred to Stormark as they were culturally closest. However, Hurmu returned in late 2010, so they re-joined their team. In late 2013, Hurmu left, so their players went to play for Lakkvia, which is the spiritual successor of Hurmu.Bjorn wrote:How does that work itself out? I guess that makes sense although it does create a bit of instability or continuity issues for teams that lose the players.Senya wrote:They were originally Hurmu players, but Hurmu left Micras in early 2010, so their players were transferred to Stormark as they were culturally closest. I'm guessing that an active association with its own development of players won't be landed with random players from other nations if they chose to?

Since Stormark's football association has been activated and has got its own competition now, I would like to have a national team composed of players that play for Storish clubs.
The players with the numbers 1 through 11 are the team fielded by Stormark, the others are, of course, the substitutes.

I wouldn't overlook foreign-based players entirely, though, some of them have got quite a reputation.High King Harald wrote:Since Stormark's football association has been activated and has got its own competition now, I would like to have a national team composed of players that play for Storish clubs.

It's not too much of a problem when you keep track of it over the years. To be fair, I think Hurmu might be the only example of a nation regaining its players after returning after they'd already represented another nation, so it doesn't happen that often.Bjorn wrote:although it does create a bit of instability or continuity issues for teams that lose the players.
Every player needs a flag to play under, though, and occasionally there's only really one logical place to put their eligibility; such as the former-Mahozi players now being eligible to play for Haifa. However, the nation is in no way obliged to do anything whatsoever with the new players they've inherited (as in Haifa's case, they won't use any of the ex-Mahozi players), so it doesn't have to affect anything other than what flag appears next to their name on the wikiI'm guessing that an active association with its own development of players won't be landed with random players from other nations if they chose to?
And Harald, thanks for updating me; I'll use that squad for the qualifiers onward. As Barnaby said, though, don't completely rule-out using any foreign-based players, especially considering the success they've had up 'til now
