Resignation
I hereby resign as SCUE administrator. I no longer wish to be at the helm of a ship that doesn't sail.
Good luck to the next administrator.

Re: Resignation
In light of Duke Sinclair's resignation, I self-nominate to be
SCUE Administrator. I would do three main things as SCUE
Administrator:
1) Try to recruit back in departed member nations, but
only if they are willing, as well as new member nations.
2) Be totally focused on supporting the member nations' interests.
3) Stay as much in the background as possible.

Re: Resignation
I'll throw my name in the running as well. I have no vested interests in SCUE myself (the Gotzborg government account in Alexandria is the only thing I control within SCUE from a user perspective, and that's a sovereign account at that), which means that I can be the neutral, moderative and disinterested administrator that a multilateral organization that is formed as a service provider, such as SCUE is, requires. I would not be an activist administrator. I'd simply administer the services of the bank and ensure a fair and reasonable application of the Charter, while ensuring that member micronations have a structured forum in which multilateral policy efforts can be discussed / adopted.
I'd suspect that it would be a rare event that I'd propose policy myself, except where absolutely necessary to clarify problems/confusion that crop up with the Charter or to stave off a dire anticipated problem with SCUE itself. In such cases, any policy changes would made and adopted in line with the processes determined by the Charter and in open consultation with the members.

Re: Resignation
I agree with the idea that a neutral Admin is necessary and support Liam's bid.

Re: Resignation
I'm genuinely sad that passing on Administratorship to Duke Sinclair didn't work out. But I am glad he's triggered more interest in and conversation about the SCUE. I echo Benkern's comments.

Re: Resignation
You could always add a clause that an Administrator must recuse themselves from any high ranking positions during their tenure with SCUE. While not full-proof, it would at least help to limit situations where a conflict of interest can arise.

Re: Resignation
Liam Sinclair would most likely make a good SCUE Administrator.
I will not campaign much against him, but will stay in the race so
that we do not have another election that is a rubber-stamp.
If elected, I do not think Liam should resign as editor of The Coprieta
Standard or as a leader in Gotzborg, as Orion's idea suggests; however,
I do think Liam should be able to appoint a Temporary Assistant
Administrator to handle requests in which there might be a conflict
of interest. Had Pallisco done that, we might not be having this
election. (In fact, I would have suggested this idea to Pallisco,
but he had already resigned.)

Re: Resignation
I said high ranking positions. The Coprieta Standard does not fall in the category, nor is Liam the leader of Gotzborg (last I knew it was still Charles). But yes, having what we call "alternates" available to make a decision should a conflict of interest arise would also be a good strategy.
Re: Resignation
Orion, I see some sense in that idea.

Re: Resignation
Editor of The Coprieta Standard is high ranking.
