Complaint about AWF expansion
In the last few months, after the fall of the Franco-Batavian Empire, I have learned my lesson in opening up a little more to cooperation. I think several people can confirm this, because I have discussed my claims for Arbor with close neighbours beforehand.
Also, my commitment to Sylvania's developments is being developed in cooperation with others. I am avoiding conflicts here, because I want to avoid another Second Amokolian War. I am very surprised and disappointed by Edgard's recent claim by Alduria-Wechua. I extended my reservation for Sylvania to the Islas de la Libertad on 28-8, although I did not make an explicit note of it. I did not know whether that was required because the reservation had not yet been put to the vote by the Council. As you can read in the article "Sylvanian National Awakening", the enlargement has a background story.
Once again, I want to avoid a conflict, but unfortunately that is being made difficult for me. I cannot contact Edgard directly via discord. So I sent him a private message via this forum. I have found another player willing to contact him on my behalf, so I already know that there is no willingness for a deal. This is because the Council is already in the process of voting. It is a pity, because I am prepared to change my story so that I have never been to the Islas de la Libertad, as it were.
However, I would like the colony on Jaris not to be claimed by Alduria-Wechua. I simply do not understand that colony, why? There is no Raspur nation nearby, it is not on the line of the original Alduria - Wechua. In the light of part G, paragraph 2, of the Charter, I do not understand that colony.
- There is no "cultural development", no Micraswiki article (at the time of this post).
- There is no 'international coorperation', I did not know anything about the plans, nor did others, according to what I hear.
- There is no "history", that seems clear to me.
- There is no 'geographical realism', the colony is so remote from other claims.
I am sorry to have to report my concerns in this way. I just do not feel like having a conflict. I just want to have fun, but then I'm sorry that someone else is preying on the same pixels as me. Even more so, I am sorry that there is no adult consultation. I am also sorry that I have to approach the Council in this way.

Re: Complaint about AWF expansion
That is the nature of reservations; they only get voted on once the nation is old enough. Until then, the land that is requested to be reserved is not claimable by any other. Nations are perfectly fine to amend their reservations as much as they wish, but making any changes known explicitly when they occur is a key factor for two reasons:Gustaaf Vermeylen wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 7:09 pmI extended my reservation for Sylvania to the Islas de la Libertad on 28-8, although I did not make an explicit note of it. 1. So that the MCS is able to actually enforce a new reservation (the very issue with the claim in question as we were not informed of a change), and
2. To avoid potential malicious extensions of reservations - i.e. a nation could submit a perfectly reasonable reservation, but if they subsequently sneakily updated it to include the entire Green (as an extreme example), that would clearly not be grounds to warrant stopping other nations claiming land completely.
Additionally, though it's not really my place to tell you how to undertake your own diplomacy, I'd personally avoid the middleman approach lest things be misinterpreted

Re: Complaint about AWF expansion
Well, I understand very well that diplomacy is my own business. But there are some difficulties.
In the light of the reservation, I understand that it is sensible to inform the Council in the event of a change. That is not so explicitly stated in the Charter, so my starting point was that the reservation is not yet final and is therefore still flexible until it is put to the vote by the Council. That is perhaps a miscalculation on my part.
I now hope that the Council will consider my complaint about the colony on Jaris. I am prepared to write the Islas de la Libertad out of my story.

It shouldn't have to be expressly written in the Charter, it should be self-evident. So, since none of your reserved area is affected by the AWF expansion, I personally consider this complaint closed.
