Text in Paint
So, I'm finishing up my expansion here and I seem to be incapable of making single color 'clean' text like I used to. I've got Windows 7 now and did my last map update on an XP system. As I recall, paint would give you the stick figure text that the map has now, but I am putting names in now and I get...messy text that has all these randomly colored blocks all about it like shading and such. I'm missing something obvious, I'm sure of it.

You're not missing anything, it's the new version trying to be better. GIVE US BACK SINGLE COLOURED FONTS MICROSOFT!
I actually have to draw the letters myself with the pencil tool

Re: Text in Paint
Get Paint.NET. It gives you the ability to draw aliased (jagged) text, lines, etc., having a featureset similar to GIMP, but wasier to use.

Is there a reference somewhere so I can draw the letters? I don't know them off my head. I'll try this paint.net thing too.

I'll do a reference thing now, along with the symbols for everything.

Double Post
So what do you do to stop paint.net from being blurry?

Hope this works
Re: Text in Paint
Click the second button from the right on the bottom toolbar (the one that looks like a line). It should become jagged, denoting that antialiasing has been disabled.
And yes, it does.

Re: Text in Paint
I think the colour on the terrorist symbol is a bit out, but it's rarely used anyway
