...no, I didn't know about that rule. It must have been created when I was away. In direct violation of the Charter, which states that you can't change the physical map.
And what are these "certain areas"? There's something slightly suspicious about an admin creating an island smack dab between two Shirerithian territories and then giving it to his own country.
How many nuclear weapons do you think it would take to sink an island of that size? I'd say, at a glance, fewer than Shireroth owns at the moment. And we *were* looking for creative ways to reduce our nuclear stockpile.

Volcanic eruptions can form new islands (ie Surtsey) but I've never heard of a case of them forming an island large enough to be visible on a world map over a historic time scale. The first reference I see to Sago is on a map from March; using the ASC system, that means it's formed over about a hundred years. Hawaii, in contrast, took about half a million years to become as large as it is, and for a volcanic island, that's ]i]fast[/i].
Even if such an island, as a result of some sort of mysterious hitherto unknown geologic process, did form, I'm very curious why exactly it was given to Kataria, which is way far away and hardly seems in any state to be getting new land.
I like your use of the accent in "supposèdly".

Your final point is a good one, Scott.
That area is actually under the jurisdiction of a Shirerithian Barony if I remember correctly, so surely if an island were to emerge there it would go to the rightful owners (= Shireroth).
