Discussion regarding hosting [split from MAS forum]
No, I meant the website. I wasn't aware he couldn't edit it. Is Spangle the only one that can edit the site?

Indeed he is, he's still our "techie" technically. I've never been savvy when it comes to website stuff, so that side of things was always left to himRyan wrote:Is Spangle the only one that can edit the site?

So who's our backup if Spangle gets run over by a truck?

Re: Other planets
Well, I know quite a bit of the techs, but the main problem is the server MCS site is kept on - it's Spangle's personal server. And I'm not sure if he would let anyone direct access to it (I wouldn't personally - that's why I'm using free hosting for micronational projects, so that others may use it without harming my data).

Re: Other planets
I think it'd be good if we could get the more technically sound members of the community together and discuss what'd be best in regards to hosting the Hub and MCS (moving it elsewhere, etc). As with the shift to becoming the Hub a couple of years ago, I'd not be involved due to a lack of understanding what'll be going-on and I'll just agree with what's decided
Re: Other planets
I would concur with finding new, neutral and accessible hosting for the Hub and MCS. We need to have a few tech people on hand to keep things up-to-date, and it shouldn't be on someone's personal server so that it can be transferred to new admins when old ones retire.

Re: Discussion regarding hosting [split from MAS forum]
I've split the relevant posts from the original thread, to stop too much confusion, and moved it to a more suitable board
So, let's work some things out here! Direct anyone you think may take interest in this to here!
