Re: A question
My choices may be slightly subjective, but it's hard to overlook anyone who was involved in Les Bleus' World Cup victory in 2009! I'd probably name the following as Alexandria's best ever:
Sébastien Focán - Arguably one of the best Micras has ever seen. Central midfielder who captained the national team for a number of years, including 2009's World Cup victory, where he was voted player of the tournament. Played in five World Cups and scored seven goals in those tournaments. Now retired and forging a career in management.
Florent Lassana-Traoré - Almost certainly the national team's all-time leading scorer. Currently still playing, and has featured in eight World Cups since his début tournament in 2007. Has scored 33 goals in those tournaments so far, being the top scorer (either stand-alone or shared) in three of them; the most of any player. Moved to Craitland in 2012 for a considerable Cr 23 million fee.
Khalid Mohamed - Appeared in seven World Cups for Alexandria up until 2014, and was a major reason for Lassana-Traoré's success with a lethal partnership. Able to play up front or out wide to great effect, and scored eight World Cup goals. Now 34, he plays in Tellia but has retired from international duties.
Cyril Kopaczewski - Known as "Kopa", and is the side's current captain. An impervious centre-back who has been an ever-present in Alexandria's World Cup squads since the very first in 2006. Scored his only tournament goal in 2013's third-place play-off, but it's his skill at denying the other team scoring that makes him one of Micras' best.
Tamer Modrem - Beginning to show why he was called the "new Focán" in his youth. Now 25, and having made a huge Cr 42 million move in the summer, the midfielder's first World Cup was as a 17 year-old in 2008. He has scored eight World Cup goals since, with two coming in his début tournament, and is widely regarded as one of Micras' biggest talents.
David Belle - While he missed-out on a place in the victorious 2009 squad through injury, he was Alexandria's consistent first-choice right-back until his retirement in 2011. Played in five World Cups (two alongside younger brother Jean-Pierre), scoring once.
I think an overall line-up would look something like this:
