Very disappointing display from Northcliff Vikings. Glad that the Panthers despite that heavy loss.

Re: 2018 FMRL World Club Championships
Deacon RLFC and Northsilver Panthers faced off at the Freddie Mercury Memorial Arena this evening, with the world title at stake. With this in mind, both sides exchanged penalties to make the score 2-2 after 10 minutes. Deacon managed to capitalise on a 2-man overlap midway through the first half to score the first try of the half, with Steve Evans successfully adding the conversion. The Florians managed to level the scores however, with a good finish down the middle, before slotting a drop goal to go into the half-time break 9-8 ahead.
The Panthers came close to extending their slender lead early in the second half, but were denied by the video referee, instead resulting in a harsh penalty for obstruction. Fortunately for the Panthers, Deacon were unable to put anything on the board with the resulting attack. It didn't take long, however, as they slid in the corner just 5 minutes later, to take a 3-point lead, and followed it up with a converted try to make the score 18-9. Northsilver did manage to pull a try back, but from there-on-in, it was one way traffic, with Deacon confidently finishing their chances to take a 15-point victory and the title.
