FMRL statement - 2018 FMRL World Cup
The Florian Republic has been stripped of its hosting rights for the 2018 FMRL World Cup, following the recent developments in the War of Lost Brothers. This decision has been made at the request of the Florian government, who feel that the situation is too dangerous. The FMRL will open up an emergency bidding process in the meantime, with bidding closing on Sunday, January 7th 2018. The Florian Republic team will still be eligible to participate in the World Cup qualification and the ARL Championships, however, until the cessation of conflict, any home games scheduled will be played away from home.
In addition, the Florian Republic will not host any games in the 2018 FMRL World Club Championships or qualification, and their three allocated clubs will be replaced in the group stage by the three top seeded teams in the first qualifying round, Eprat RLFC, Otaq Tomb Guardians and CT Hornets, with the Florian clubs swapping like-for-like.

A statement from the FRFL, the governing body of rugby league in the Florian Republic.
The stripping of being host of the FMRL World Cup was good for the people of Micras worldwide as I do not want the other citizens of Micras from suffering the terrible threats and danger from the country's ongoing complicated civil conflict.(edited)
This will only make us stronger and strive towards a positive future. The citizens have already seen enough hatred and destruction. Our footballers and rugby league players will do everything they can to raise the spirits of the Florian citizens and hope that with the nations support can qualify for the FMRL World Cup and Copa Apollonia

Florian Rugby Football League to appeal World Club Championships sanction
The FRFL has announced today that it will appeal the decision of the FMRL to demote the three Florian clubs in the group stage of the World Club Championships to the first qualifying round, following the recent developments in the War of Lost Brothers. It was confirmed that the clubs would be replaced in the group stage by the three top-seeded clubs, CT Hornets, Eprat RLFC and Otaq Tomb Guardians. This appeal will be handled by an independent FMS committee. The FMRL will make no further comment at this time.

Re: FMRL statement - 2018 FMRL World Cup
Having heard the Florian appeal regarding team allocation for the 2018 World Club Championships, the independent FMS committee has come to the following conclusion:
The FMRL's official adoption of the tournament permits the organisation to design its format in a fair and just way for all entering members. We feel that the demotion of Florian clubs from automatic group stage qualification to qualifying round entry is a completely justified move given the subsequent inclusion of the champions of Birgeshir, Craitland and Senya into the group stage.
However, we feel that having no Florian teams receiving automatic group places would be unjust, and stipulate that the following change must be made to this year's format: the lowest-ranked Mercurian team to receive an automatic group place shall be demoted to play in the first qualifying round, with the highest-ranked Florian team being promoted to take the vacated group place.
As such, Mercury's Cook Island Cobras will initially compete in the tournament's first qualifying round, and the Florian Republic's Northcliff Vikings will be granted a guaranteed group place. In light of one fewer Mercurian teams entering in the group stage, and due to the tournament's two-group format, the FMRL may rearrange the tournament's groups as desired as a result.

FMRL response to the FMS Appeal Decision
The FMRL accepts the decision taken by the FMS to reinstate one Florian club to the group stage of the FMRL Club World Championships. In light of this decision, Cook Island Cobras will compete in the first qualifying round, against Northcliff Vikings' original opponents the Southern Aztecs. Due to Cook Island being the seeded club, they will play this match at home. In addition to this change, the group stage draw will be redone, following the qualifying competition, to ensure fairness for all clubs involved, as the identities of the clubs will be known at the time of the draw.
Due to the changes to fixtures, all first qualifying round matches involving Florian or Mercurian sides will be postponed to 6th January, in order that teams can make new travel and ticketing arrangements.
