Florian State of Origin
Game One
In the second ever edition of the series and the first between the Florian states of Kingsland and Southland. The match proved to be an absolute thriller with only one point separating the two sides. Southland and Kingdom of Coria coach, Wayne Adams was heavily criticised after selecting a side a side dominated by players from the Super League leaders, Stonehall Rhinos but criticism was washed away when Sean Powell crashed over in the 11th minute to give Southland the lead. The try was converted by fellow teammate Chris Briscoe and excellent defence from Southland kept the score at 6-0 at halftime. However, Kingsland who had taken a while to settle in the match scored a brilliant try through winger Adam Rogers who scored a full length of the pitch try, this was followed by a brilliant conversion from the touchline by Rhys Baxter and the scores were level. Both teams cancelled out each other's attacks with both sides getting two tries disallowed by the Video referee. 5 minutes from time, Demarcus May of Southland would score a brilliant field goal however on the hooter Kingsland was awarded a penalty and with ease, Rhys Baxter broke the hearts of all the Southland fans with a simple conversion. The next match of the series will take place at the RB Park in Dragonmoor, in what will be a must-win game for Southland if they want to win the title. If Kingsland wins, they win the series.
