Is that not your football team, rather than your futsal one?

Technically that would be ok for example USA calls up soccer players to their team. However it is discouraged.

Yeah, that's not really a problem (they're not in qualifiers or anything). I was more wondering about 23 players being put-down for a 12-man squad :P

Not selection, submission. Just seems strange to take them via PM. Best to do them publicly to avoid misunderstandings like the one above; I didn't know Calbion had given you their squad privately, so I thought they were submitting it here in the wrong format :)

Opening Day Fixture Preview:

North Antarctica vs Calbion

The opening game of the World Cup for Futsal will surely be exciting as minnows Calbion look to take on giants North Antarctica. NAPI are favored to win the whole tournament, and with a squad like the one it has, that is a likely situation. They look to have a talisman in defender Milan Kremanovic, who is clearly one of the best players on the court. Couple that with midfielder Sergio Lozano and striker Mario Castelleti, and you have a very top class team. Another player to watch out for is striker Ezequiel Fernandez, who is based out of Alexandria. This player has dominated play in Alexandria and is looking to make a name for himself on an international level as well. Calbion, who are considerably not the favorite in this match, look to give North Antarctica a run for their money. Llywelyn Wyn-Jones looks to lead his team as the striker is the key player for the side. Edward Faletau, age 25, also is one hopeful product for the side as he can assist the team with key performances. We should expect a nice, high energy openining fixture.

Gerenia vs Safiria

The other game happening across the city is looking to be a more close match up as evenly-sided teams Gerenia and Safiria square out. Both sides are going to look to move on to the semi finals, so a win here would be crucial for that success to become a reality. Paul Fernandez and Mikel Frij are both solid performers and will hopefully shine in tomorrows fixture. Fernandez especially is one to look out for in the future as he is only eighteen years old and has a key role in the squad. For Safiria, keeper Atif Stegenga, member of Juarez City Futsal in the Napian F-League is going to be a decent shot-stopper will Linnea Ivyan is the veteran of the team in at defense. Kira is the star of this line-up, as she is going to have to perform and score in order for Safiria's success. All said, both teams will go into this game expecting a win, and this will provide for a seriously contested match.

North Antarctica vs Calbion
The first game of the tournament proved to be no-surpriser. With favorites North Antarctica looking to pick up an early win, they clearly had the better part of the first half's chances. It took about 7 minutes for the first goal, and what a goal to open up scoring. Ezequiel Fernandez, who had been brought in a minute earlier, laid a pass wide to Sergio Lozano, who, after cutting it to the left, took a shot from 10 yards out. Ripping it into the top left, keeper Lloyd-George had no chance to save. After the goal, Calbion tried to muster a few chances, and had some success. Faletau and Ross both had a nice combination, which led to Faletau placing it just wide of the mark. Llywelyn Wyn-Jones had the ball passed to him with his back to the goal, and with a neat turn around, shot it, only to find out that the aim sent it right into the crossbar. With two minutes remaining in the half, however, Calbion would find their breakthrough, as Arthur Holmes would bring the ball down the flank, and with a surprise shot, score after keeper Junior Rodriguez couldn't get to it. The sides would go into halftime tied 1-1. However, it was clear who wanted it more in the second half. North Antarctica would come out guns blazing. Castelleti would find two early goals in rapid succession in the space of three minutes. Kremanovic would take a real hell-raising shot that would find itself in a few minutes later to make it 4-1. Ezequiel Fernandez would pull a snake on a player and then take a shot with his weaker left foot, causing Lloyd-George to dive, but to no avail. Fernandez would etch himself another with 8 minutes left. With four minutes to go, Castelleti would kill the game with a sweetly placed free-kick. Calbion would find a late consolation goal, with Wyn-Jones scoring on this occasion. However, it would serve no purpose as NAPI would win 7-2.

North Antarctica 7-2 Calbion

Holmes(CAL) 18'
Castelleti(NAP) 21'

Gerenia vs Safiria
The other match would be significantly closer as two evenly matched sides played it out. The game would start at an even tempo, with both sides having a fair share of possession. After a few missed chances, Gerenia would finally take the lead with Mikel Frij taking the spoils with a curved shot. Safiria would up the momentum, but this would lead to another Gerenian goal, as an unexposed back would be easy pickings for Mark Raldaviz would would beat even the keeper to slot it in. 2-0. Safiria would come back, however, and with five minutes remaining, Linnea Ivyan would start up the play, receive a 1-2, and shot it, curling it just past the outstretched hands of Denis Ivarlac. 2-1. With the last minute of play in the first half, Ivyan would be subject to a foul as she tackled Raldaviz and would receive a yellow card. This was also the sixth foul, which would warrant a penalty from the second mark. Barzana would step up to take the penalty, and would score with just 37 seconds remaining. 3-1 ended the first half. Safiria would come out of the half knowing a win was needed, and Kira would light up the field with a few great shots. Kira would get a goal after five minutes when Fernandez dove in on a move and was easily megged. Keina Mukel would be the provider for that goal. However, provider would turn scorer for the next goal. Mukel would receive a pass and would dribble down the line, only to cut inside at the last moment and rip a shot towards goal. Nobody could stop this, and the keeper was left frozen. Five minutes to play 3-3. But it just wasn't going to be Safiria's day, as another sixth foul led to a penalty. Barzana again would take it, and again would put it out of Stegenga's reach. The match would end two minutes later 4-3, with Gerenia the victor.

Gerenia 4-3 Safiria
Frij(GER) 11'
Raldaviz(GER) 15'
