2014 MFF World Cup Qualification

It's time for the first official MFF Qualifying Event leading up to next year's World Cup. It will be a one round qualifying fixture starting next weekend. Already automatically qualified are hosts(Elwynn) and last year's winners Alexandria. The other twenty members will have four groups of five in the qualifying stage. Each team will play the other teams in their group twice, and the top two teams in every group will have automatic qualification to the World Cup. This should make up 12 teams, and there you have it! Questions?

Groups For Qualifying will be announced next Wednesday following a draw. Fixtures will be announced before the first round.

You can start a host bidding process now, and the qualifiers can begin later. That's much better than just 'I made it so (...) Elwynn won'.

Also, 16 teams out of 22 qualifying for the World Cup is kind of excessive :P Should be more like 8.

I know what you mean, but the qualifiers barely fit before the World Cup, even if we started them this weekend. Also, to Joe, again I see what your saying, but the plans were to make it a 16 team tournament from the start, and since it didn't happen in the first year, I wanted to make it happen this year :).

This. It'd be like Adám or Joe saying they want a 32 team FMF World Cup, may be awesome, but it dosen't make sense. Also, I'd hold a bidding process, it's not fair giving it to x country.

Also, another idea: what if the World Cup starts (a bit) later than you've planned?

I guess I could limit the number back to twelve and have the same format as last year, and ill remake the format for qualifying and announce it tomorrow along with groups and fixtures. The first round of qualifying will be moved back to next weekend. Also, fine, Elwynn isn't guaranteed to host, but they are running, member nations have until October 16th to submit bids, and then I'll choose. All you need to submit is a list of stadiums(3-6) and a reason for hosting :).

EDIT: FORMAT IN ORIGINAL POST

Country: River Warriors
Stadiums:
Spoiler!
- Stad Mahūti, 20,000, Mahūti (15,000 seater stadium with smaller pitch elevated in centre, with some standing space around the sides being added for WC, Final only)
- RVW Futsal Stadium, 11,000, Mahūti
- Vaẗæpkló, 5,350, Mahūti
- ĞÉDK Jímnas, 2,000, Vósjeḵ
- Donmānarēna, 2,000, Cē Donmān
Why we want to host: Futsal is an increasingly popular sport in one of the poorest regions of Micras, and holding the World Cup here would be a dream come true. With subsidies being offered by the Senyan government to hold this tournament, the River Warriors is able to make this dream become a reality.

River Warriors pose a very strong national team which is constantly looking to improve, and there would be no bigger chance than with a world cup on home surface, and many areas across the region would be open for teams to train in. The 3 bidding cities are all close to each other, with Mahūti, a city of 0.9 million people, being the centre piece, with the other two host villages being within an hour and a half drive from the city centre.

With the River Warriors in discussions with Senya for a joint league to begin in 2014, there is a big chance that Senya would be able to provide a fantastic and memorable tournament, with discounted ticket prices for the poor residents of the River Warriors. We hope that out experience as co-host of the Senyan School International Tournament in 2013 will help us become a fantastic venue for this tournament to play.

Host Picked and Group Draw Made

With qualifying just a few days away, the host for the second annual futsal World Cup has been announced. Elwynn took the place with the president of MFF staying," Elwynn simply have better infrastructure than River Warriors, higher quality arenas, and are the best culturally safe and financially sound option. With that being said, if River Warriors can improve some of the aforementioned areas, then there is a very high chance it could be the host in 2015." With that being said, the group draw has been made. Fixtures will be published before the first round of play.
