Chances are, any future wars, and the level of technology would still be the same as the ones we are using in this one. Perhaps, even less so, given the large ambiguities around.

It matters this much because of how he's doing it. And we've gotten really "arsy" about our tech, defending it and keeping it relatively secret. And people randomly running around blowing up civilians really rubs some of us the wrong way.
I'd say it's nothing personal, but i believe that this issue with extreme has become that.
not to mention i could name several people who still have a bone to pick with you monty (no offense, but my hackles are up. I don't know when to stop)

Re: extreme007
The major thing is, I expect, that it's something that lasts. Destroying cities, meh, that can be repaired soon after the war. It's as if it never happened. Most things in war are like that - however much land you capture, diplomacy says you have to return it the moment the war's done. Stealing technology - well, that could be brought up again and again ....
Except, of course, that it's not in allowable victory conditions ... hmm

Ok, I was talking to Andreas, and I am wondering if the rest of the Tokians and Novatanians would be comfortable with the following: I steal the items as I originally listed. You are more than welcome to send the new units after me in trying to retrieve it. Failing that (meaning, your units fail to retrieve all the units I stole), you are welcome to use the method that Andreas mentioned in his post, regarding using diplomacy and rules of convention to get the weapons back. That means, no matter what the result of this war, you can get your units back while I can get the bragging rights for having stolen yet some more items in a war.
If not, then I will stop discussion on this topic and continue with what the judges have declared, in that:

stole the armour except the Chelkran Powered Battle Armour; thats the Zetix Improved Outer Tactical Vest (IOTV) Armor, Satyr Combat Armor, Kensai Ninja Armor.
Also you stole the CheLat MPR-07 Mutable Combat Weapon and at least gained a significant amount of intelligence and the workings of the Corvus Class Gunship, Wildfire Chelkran Battle Tanks and Cerberus Main Battle Tanks.
Photographs, performance reports, technical records etc.

Re: extreme007
That sounds a good compromise to me. He stole the stuff (even if some shouldn't be there) but at the end of the war we'll get it back if we don't retake it conventionally. I can't speak for Toketi, but on behalf of the Novatainian Debaters Alliance, I accept that.

Whatever. If I get it back, then it's okay I suppose. But don't expect any mercy from the Tokians when they hunt you down.

Cool it is agreed then that I have stolen the weapons as originally listed. And that you shall get the units back at some point in time in this war, depending upon how successful your units are in retrieving it.

because we immerse ourselves into our false reality and take up the mindset of the characters we portray who like any leader care about their people.

I don't know, you'd have to ask CraitmanGuido Zambelis wrote:why do you magick-lovers care so much about civilians?
We magic-lovers have a detailed world we care about, as North said. Though I must admit the greatest civilian caring in this war has been from Jeremy. Why not ask him if this topic genuinely interests you?

That's funny because now that I think of Atticus, magic hater of Toketi, I remember how all the civilians under his command died horribly from the Montags. Opposite of a caring magician, if I do say so.Andreas the Wise wrote:I don't know, you'd have to ask CraitmanGuido Zambelis wrote:why do you magick-lovers care so much about civilians?

Re: extreme007
So that's why he grated with the rest of Toketi so bad ...

Is it time for a kulturkampf against "Magic" yet?
