Re: [New forum] Website
I've made the ForumList and News feed titles link to the forumlist and micronations.net
When I have a microwiki RSS feed, that'll link there
I suppose Utilities doesn't need to be an RSS feed does it? It's just a list of links to various utilities?
MCS would presumably be one, as would OAM, but what else?

Re: [New forum] Website
Utilities would include a nice FAQ about micronations, a link to outside sites such as the microfreedom index, and anything else we can throw in that may prove a useful educational tool for newcomers.
Try to look at it as if you came across the site with no understanding of micronations whatsoever, and then consider what would provide optimal information and resources on the subject.
LoM, OAM, MCS, RIMA, etc, would be in this category.
We don't have websites for the MAS or Foundation (do we?) and other such hosted organizations; but it might be nice to give those groups a blurb page on the main site and then link them to the forum.
The Foundation used to have a pretty comprehensive website, aeons ago, and I may work on a new one if you're willing to provide hosting (I can keep the size very minimal).

I can provide as much space as you want, mysql databases are a tad limited, but that's not hard to sort, I just have to move things around
could have foundation.hub.mn and such?

Re: [New forum] Website
Found out all mediawikis have an RSS feed of recent changes by default

Re: [New forum] Website
I think subsites such as foundation.hub.mn would work really well. We could do that for all the hosted sites if those organizations opted to host a site with us (meaning MAS, Anunia, MITO, etc).

Re: [New forum] Website
Indeed... I might be able to hack up some php system for them to easily make some sites for themselves, but that might be a stretch
getting an FTP account would certainly be doable though

Re: [New forum] Website
I think it's a great idea, but we do just need to make sure we keep the organisations separate from the hosting service. A URL like foundation.hub.mn could imply that it was the foundation of the hub or something along those lines, so perhaps apollo.hub.mn or apollofoundation.hub.mn? It's a small thing but I think it's worth just making the distinction.
Re: [New forum] Website
I never quite thought of it that way. I always referred to it as Foundation since it was originally based on Asimov's story of the same name. Your suggested alternate works just as well, so I'm happy to go with that.

Re: [New forum] Website
Oh I absolutely agree, but if we're going to have a lot of new people joining it's probably worth making it clear!
Re: [New forum] Website
I've knocked up a new site, hopefully it's better. Also I made a simple logo which can be seen in the top left.
Tah-dah!
Any feedback?

Re: [New forum] Website
Is there a chance of being able to include dates with each feed item listed?
Re: [New forum] Website
I was thinking more of two over two rather than all in a line. Thought it might fill the page out better; as it stands it looks a tad empty in the lower half.
Unless we can add something else there?
We should definitely have an intro/welcome blurb in there to describe the role and content of the site.

Re: [New forum] Website
I like that, but can the titles change to 'News' 'MicroWiki updates' and 'ForumList updates'?
What is the utilities feed for?
Yeah, we do need some explanation text.
