Re: [Amokolia] Annexation by Elwynn
I have recently been contacted by Queen Victoria, who is, er, the queen of Victoria. You may remember that the Queen usually takes a back seat in Victorian affairs and that she is widely suspected of being a well-known micronationalist although no one knows exactly who.
She does not want to post directly on this forum yet because of her desire to conceal her identity, but she has asked me to relay the following message:

I realize right now you have only my word that this is the Queen, but I will be trying to arrange some way for her to confirm her identity.I am not happy with the Elwynn Annexation of the Amokolia. Victoria is dying, that is true, but it is up to us (and therefore me) to decide of when and to whom we dispose our possessions and Amokolia is our only to date. The tone struck by Kalirion in his unilateral declaration of independence is offensive because it claims certain things which are false. During my time as monarch, I have had no dealings with him over the issue of Amokolia since his appearance on the forums agitating for Amokolia independence. In addition I did at all times attempt to make Amokolia governable. The country though is a dead weight tied around any nation's neck.
I have been attempting to post my objections on the forums but having tried on a number of different computers I am unable to post anything on there.
Would you therefore relay to the Council and to the wider community that it is I, Queen Victoria II, who will determine the future of Amokolia's territories on the map?

As Prime Minister I can confirm that the government (what is left of it) is having serious reservations about my previous pronouncement, and I can confirm the validity of the person representing themselves as the Queen.
Re: [Amokolia] Annexation by Elwynn
I suppose the question then is "do we care what the government of a spambot infested inactive nation says about their provinces leaving?" Cuz, I'm not sure they get to make too many calls at this point. Victoria may not be dead enough to get booted off the MCS yet, but it's sure not worth visiting any longer.

It is longstanding MCS policy that a nation's land cannot be claimed by another nation or otherwise unilatterally leave sovereign ownership against the will of the nation that legally owns those lands in accordance with MCS rules without a Treaty or other agreement. Victoria still is the legal owner of Amokolia so what Victoria's government has to say on this matter does matter very much.

Yeah? Ask Shireroth about Elwynn on that one.

In that case the land was marked as disputed but Elwynn, in the eyes of the MCS, did not fully leave Shireroth's sovereign ownership until a Treaty between Elwynn and Shireroth was finalized.

Given that Victoria's website is mostly empty template pages and the forum has now been closed as a defense against spammers, has it now reached the stage where it would be reasonably considered to be abandoned?
If I remember correctly, the principal concern of the declaration of independence was the complete absence of government for a period of months, in which case the general principles of and rights to self-determination should apply. There was also a previous debate on potential scenarios revolving around a possible alternative to the Bastion, which Bjorn and Jess were both interested in, although I think Bjorn was still preferring a federal Victoria.
However, there is nothing here to compare with the Shireroth/Elwynn situation, as Elwynn was not seeking independence from a failed state.

Re: [Amokolia] Annexation by Elwynn
Amokolia is just as dead as Victoria itself, and by virtue of that both should be removed from the map. At that point, if Elwynn has such a strong need for expansionism, they should move to occupy the adjacent vacated land.
How many active people does Elwynn have? Three maybe? Does such truly limited activity really warrant an expansion that doubles the size of the country?

It wouldn't be for us. We just finally want a stable central Benacia. And I say that off the record. The country though is a dead weight tied around any nation's neck.

I've cleared the spam and re-opened the board but disabled user registrations because I really cba to constantly be deleting spambot accounts, if you desperately want to register then I'll do it for you.
Re: [Amokolia] Annexation by Elwynn
I am Queen Victoria II of the Kingdom of Victoria. I'd like to thank Scott for making the arrangements for me to speak here and for passing on my first message to you all.
I will state now that I am not going to engage in any discussion about who people seem to think I may "really" be. I am Victoria.
As to the issue of Amokolian secession the Kingdom of Victoria strongly objects to the unilateral nature of the secession and the lies told by Daniel Kalirion and those pushing for the matter.
1. Daniel Kalirion never once contacted me over his feelings regarding Amokolia. If he had, working agreements could have been set up.
2. Plans for the Government of Amokolia have been considered by the Victorian Cabinet. Jean Beaumont, the Governor, even set up detailed plans for an Amokolian Army during the recent Elywnn crisis because of surrounding nations being involved in what I am informed was something that could have led to war.
So as Queen of Victoria I am considering a number of options availabe to Amokolia, Victoria and the wider Micras world.
1. The Victorian Empire's desire when taking over Amokolia was to develop it into a sustainable micronation. We have been unable to do that but we will only ever allow Amokolia to secede to a nation with a committed, logical and conceivable plan to ensure that Amokolia will sustain itself eventually.
2. If that nation cannot be found then we will preside over the dissolution of Amokolia and the possible breaking up of what is a failed nation.
