Money, money, money!
I'm sure everyone knows how inept I am when it comes to more technical computer-related activities, so it may not surprise you when I say that yesterday I tired-out Photoshop for the very first time. I was a bit bored, was scouring through a number of micronational wikis and came to the conclusion that it might actually be a handy program for designing interesting Craitish objects; like coins.
Basically, this is the first thing I've created on Photoshop and, although obviously not the best-looking of things, I'm pretty proud of it
Feel free to critique an' all that

Wooo, that looks good! Better than my first, second or tenth try. I gave up following the coin tutorials.

Re: Money, money, money!
In Interland we have a very similar design, with denomination, state name and a sign for visually disabled on the obverse and a water lily (Interlandian emblem) on the reverse. Here's an example 100 Reuels coin (100 Reuels is a price of one loaf of bread; 1 Reuel is the smallest denomination. This is the Government's policy as it doesn't involve fractions when it comes to finances):

Re: Money, money, money!
I decided on a design like this so that there wouldn't have to be a hypothetical redesign/remint of everything when the monarch changes. The ₢1 coin is roughly the same size as a British 10p (or old Dutch ƒ1, if that helps for reference) as I think that's the "perfect" size for a coinpawelabrams wrote:In Interland we have a very similar design, with denomination, state name and a sign for visually disabled on the obverse and a water lily (Interlandian emblem) on the reverse.

Yup, even though it's sometimes fun (Look! I've found half a dolar with Franklin!), it's a problem for the future governments of micronations - we can't rule out the possibility that no one among future citizens would be able to produce such images...

just wondering, could you use the same method to make paper currency with more sophisticated designs etc? I've seen photoshop used for currency but I'm not sure if It can be done from scratch or not without taking many months.

You can find many resources on the net; all you need are some floral designs, ornaments, rosettes, tiles and you can stamp a bit with those. And an obvious choice are serif fonts - sans-serif seem unprofessional.

Re: Money, money, money!
I guess if you use Photoshop for more conventional photo editing means, then I'm sure adding a few images and effects together would make some pretty good notes. What I did with this was just add a lot of effects to shapes and text. The only image was the coat of arms, which was greyscaled before I added it in

Re: Money, money, money!
Apologies for bumping an old thread, but we've had some developments with our monetary designs
I am absolutely delighted to announce the design for the Cr5 note! We have worked closely with numismatist Danny Zhang, Prime Minister of Schwanensee, to create this banknote! The final design can be seen below, and is 17cm x 8.61 cm when printed - meaning that anyone can print an exact replica if they so wish
As a sign of gratitude for Mr Zhang's work, I am awarding him an Honorary CrC, the highest Craitish honour that can be given to a non-Crait! We would like to wholeheartedly thank Mr Zhang for his hard work and efforts in creating this magnificent article
Re: Money, money, money!
That's pretty sweet. I've been working on Apollantean coinage, but it pales in comparison to this stuff.
Maybe I'll go back to doing postage stamps.

Re: Money, money, money!
I have no idea where to start when it comes to banknotes, so I'm extremely grateful for Mr Zhang's help with everything! It's great work and fits well with our Cr1 coin design too
