Fnord Awards for 2013!
Since I did it last year, I'll do it this year.
The first snow has come to Sweden. What does that mean? It means the Fnord season has come to us all.
We're going to award ourselves the merry Fnord statuettes.
The Categories:
Award for Best New Idea ("the Josh")
Award for Conflict Resolution ("the Beard")
Award for Cultural Development:
Award for Economics ("the Andreas")
Award for Art ("the Artz")
Award for History ("the RIMA")
Award for Journalism ("the Iain")
Award for Leadership ("the Mortis")
Award for Literature ("the Jeremy")
Award for Most Promising New Micronation
Award for Most Promising New Micronationalist ("the Liam")
Award for Overall Achievement ("the Shane")
Award for "'Tis but a flesh wound"
Timeline:
Now-January 1 (2013): Nominations to be submitted
Around Christmas: Judges announced and judges convene
January 1-7: Judges sit in deliberation
January 8: Emperor Norton Day: FNORD award
I will be chairing the awarding Committee of the Fnord. I am looking for judges from different countries and who are different in personality. I won't be voting on any awards unless there's a tie.
So I want nominations for awards and for judges, people! When you nominate, please include some motivational summary

Re: Fnord Awards for 2013!
I'd like to nominate the Free State of Haifa for most promising new micronation. When they were first founded, I think a number of us had our doubts, but they've definitely proven themselves, and I believe that such an award would be well-deserved.
I'd also like to see a new award for Dick-Move of the Year, for which I will nominate Babkha for destroying their own territory with nuclear weapons in a petty attempt to stop new micronations from claiming their former land. I'm really glad that trend never caught on.

Award for Cultural Development to Jezza Rasmus. Not only for his fabulous stories in Jingdao (too many to just link to), but also the designs for our fleet and air force.

I did jack this year, so I'll volunteer to be a judge.

Re: Fnord Awards for 2013!
I've judged the last couple of years' awards, so (unless you're desperate) I'll give it a miss this time. I also second the nomination of Haifa for Best New Micronation...

Ah good, otherwise I'd look a bit sillyCraitman wrote:I also second the nomination of Haifa for Best New Micronation...
Re: Fnord Awards for 2013!
I nominate the Corporetia Standard for the Jounralism award. It is the only one I actually have actually followed reasonably closely in years!
I support Haifa for promising new micronation as they have shown a lot of promise and enthusiasm.

I nominate Octavius for the Fnord for history, for his amazing Shirekeep storyline/pictures.

I think Jezza's earned himself a new award category: The Siseran Scorched Micras Award
Anyways, I'll volunteer as a judge if you need another one. I have my last final tomorrow and then I'm freeeeee (at least til spring semester).
EDIT: There should also be someone on the judging panel who can give some input for the microwiki people.

I don't know if there should be, but if any of the MicroWikiers around these parts want to judge, I'm sure they'll put their name forward...Orion wrote:EDIT: There should also be someone on the judging panel who can give some input for the microwiki people.
