Birgeshir vs. Thracistan friendly (13/03)
*Played 13th March*
Birgeshir 5-0 Thracistan
23' - R. Mahırojk
43' - T. Çıkthan
78' - Ç. Tahir
82' - Ç. Tahir
87' - B. Örşurojk
The FMF's newest member made its international début instantaneously with a visit to this summer's World Cup hosts Birgeshir in what was billed as Micras' "Turk derby" due to the pair's shared cultural heritage. That was the only thing the two sides shared, however, as the experience of the Birgesh - fresh off a friendly win over World Cup holders Tellia in January - paid-off against the newcomers. Ra-to-men Mahırojk found the net midway through the first half with a strong header before Tëvrat Çıkthan wriggled free of a tackle to slot home just before the break to double the lead; a fair reflection of the half in which the Thraci players held firm but conceded to moments of quality.
After half time, Thracistan looked more likely to score their first ever goal, but youngster Can Emrenin was twice met by the safe palms of Iu-Senb Ercanojk in the Birgesh goal who kept the ball out. As the match came to its conclusion, Thracistan's fatigue kicked-in and Birgeshir's killer instinct took over. Çengiz Tahir notched a brace within the space of four minutes; first collecting a through ball and beating Berkay Şanlı one-on-one before finishing a crossed free-kick at the back post with a stooping header after peeling away from his marker. With three minutes to spare, substitute Bцatur Örşurojk made it five with a tap-in after a breakaway move, and the Birgesh strength was translated into a dominant result.
With home advantage and an increasingly impressive showing in their build-up before the summer, Birgeshir are hoping they can really make a mark on the FMF World Cup and get past the quarter-finals for the first time. Newbies Thracistan, on the other hand, were given a rude baptism in their first match on Micras, but up until the final stages, their performance looked promising and is something they can hope to develop before their first competitive showing next winter.

Re: Birgeshir vs. Thracistan friendly (13/03)
Thracistan showed some guts here playing their first match against Birgeshir and I like it! I'm sure they can be a pretty good team in the future.
